EDIT (10/02/13): Added a lot of new work, at the end of the thread. A few concept pieces and a couple unfinished sketches.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to start a digital sketchbook, hopefully I'll be able to keep it updated.

wowww, really really good, that first figure is excellent, in the second one... is that water running down her breasts?, in the third picture, i thinks its pretty good, but maybe a little to much going on, my eyes dont know where to go, i know its just an sketch, im just saying , very nice use of colors on the following ones, on the one point perspective one, i really like the texture of the metal, but there is something, i dont understand the reflection on the glass is supposed to be a hallway right? but it seems to me that its reflecting an outside building and tree leafs? the last one is going pretty good, i'd like to see it finished! :]

@Nengrana Thanks very much, I hope to keep this new sketchbooking thing going. Might give me more motivation to sketch

@rem92 Great comment. The second figure of Eva Green is a still from the film 'The Dreamers' and it's after a shower scene, so it's a mixture of water and soap.

As for the third figure of Tilda Swinton, I know what you mean about too much going on. I found her hair really challenging, it was really bushy and imposing in the reference image and I wasn't sure how to tackle it. I might have gone a little overboard!

For the sci-hi hall way, I've not finished the window area, it was supposed to be looking out into a shipping dock area but it blatantly doesn't work. So I really need to re-think and develop that area. Not so sure where to take it at the moment!

I've actually finished the last piece, it's the first image on the second row of my ConceptArt Gallery found here

    Thanks for the critique

Wow what an awesome start to a sketchbook

I really love the first one, the shading is amazing Really gives you a feel for her muscle tension.

My only critique would be in the last picture, there doesn't seem to be any really dark shadows, so it looks a bit washed out. The detail is really awesome though

@CakeFace and @David Anthony thanks to you both. I did bump the contrast/shadows for the last image you mentioned, I think I posted a link to the final version in my previous reply

Just a little sketchbook update from today, it's a depiction of a Death End Boss type character, just a really rough B&W from today - lots more work to do! Comment and Critique very welcome!

Another update to the sketchbook, it's become a daily thing since starting it. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Just a quick, quick paint of Jason Issacs. Not sure whether to refine it further, or just leave it quite rough.

Just a quick little sketch from today. I decided to make a figure proportion brush, and this is my little test of the device. Only problem is that I made the brush wrong the first time around, and I'm not sure if the piece works because of it. Ah well - experimentation and learning all the way

A really quick little character design, of a spaceman. There is a lot more development needed, but I thought I'd post it regardless.

A little hand study from today, reference images taken from the net. I've always wanted to make one of these hand sheets, so here it is!

    Wow. This must be starred.
Gorgeous drawings and paintings! Especially love your personal style in drawing characters and the hatching. Enchanting!

You're really good! Seems like you have a good handle on proportions. You did a great job with those hands.
I think you should be careful to wrap your hatch marks around the forms you're shading, use them to help the illusion of depth. When the lines just go some direction unrelated to the form, like on the hand in the middle, it makes it seem flat

@Jansi - Thanks Ana, that's really kind of you to say. I'm glad to like the work so far

@Vertical - I know what you mean about the mark making and cross-hatching. I have a bad habit of just quickly shading in areas, and I don't spend enough time thinking about direction of the strokes. I'm trying to address this area, definitely! Thanks so much for the critique.

Wow i love your sketchbook! such a great variety of subjects in here & i like your use of colour.i really dig that creepy house image. so much fun to look through.

just one small thing, the image with the riders, the anatomy on the horses is quite weak. especially the forelegs - they are much too thin andthe shoulders don't seem to sit correctly on the body if you get what i mean? also the face structure is a bit off too, around the muzzle & chin area. i know its just a sketch but just something to look out for you've got some snazzy tack& armour designs though.
