good job tyranx now im to afraid to go swimming=)
@ Peter Santha, would consider releasing the brushes and texture you used for that picture? I love the image.
@ BeastofOblivion. I should've looked at your picture before drawing mine. You achieved exactly what I was trying for...except for the lack of fuziness.
Mech art shall forever remain my forte. ...at least untill I start practising my life drawings again. I drew this up quite quickly with a quick glance at a bison photo for a reference.
Angels Falls First: Planet Storm now has a desert enviroment. Because I said so.![]()
Not my best, but better than previous attempts.
Thanks for all the inspiration here, people.
Phew, one of my latest concepts, just finished, a visualisation for a friend who is writing a fantasy novel. "Earth Guardian" was a gigantic mythical gatekeeper supposedly composed entirely of molten and semi-cooled rock.
I'm really impressed with the quality of creature artists on here. Some amazing and truly imaginative concepts (and with creatures, the more bizarre the better!) Keep it up, people.
Gaussian3d : How can you get that far after only 45 mins. of painting in Painter? (talking about your first post) That's just insane? And the detail!? I'm new to painter, but after 30 minutes of splashing around I'll I could do was make something blurry that looked like a head...
Where did you guys learn? Or did you all have 30 practiceyears more than me?
It all depends on how old you are. I am 17...I think the majority of people posting here are 19 and up.

Please disregard the stange skull thing on the upper right. It's not really a creature. Mainly, I just wanted to post the creature in the lower right corner, a man-sized arctic worm/caterpillar in a thick snow jacket, lined with fur. He also has many jagged, coarse dorsal spikes protruding through the jacket. The trunk at the top is part of a blind head, while the eye and tusks at the other end are part of another head.

This creature is a Bendecule (Bendeculyus-Bendechus). He lives in the forests of the northern British Isles. His ability to camouflage by changing color makes him a very successful stealth predator. Any creature passing by unawares is quickly snatched by his 4 meter retractible sticky toungue, and thrown into his mouth, where it is rapidly devoured. The bendecule is also capable of feeding off flying creatures and animals that live in the heights of the treetops. He makes use of his powerful legs to jump up to 20 times his height, and then hovers down by quickly flapping his wings at a rate of 140 times a second. This allows him to catch any creature as he slowly descends, aided by his bell-shaped parachuting body, scanning the forest floor for any other meal. His stupendous sense of smell is due to his huge nostrils and odor/heat- sensitive toungue.
Hope you like him.

Level 6 Gladiator: Provocator
Just joined this fantastic site, and cranked out this creature quickly tonight- he's a little stiff... I'm a little rusty. Been doing a lot of animation work in computer games, and unfortunately most of our time is spent managing the data, not creating.
