I'm sure you've all heard this a million times, but everyone on this forum amazes me. Having stumbled upon this creature thread, I've been inspired not only to join the forums but to pick up drawing again outside of doodling in class. Anyway, I feel a little silly posting this, since it's drawn shamelessly over some insulting homework assignment, but here's my contribution to this thread:

Hi to all of you, I am new here and have not been drawing active for long, perhaps 1 year +++, I have always found it fun to draw but not doing much about it. I hope to gain some skills in anatomy and perspective since I struggle with those things. I am posting a picture witch started out as a pencil drawing and I continued in PS. It's for fun and mostly for practice.

Anyway, I call this creature Xixi and hes not completely finished but I have been slowly developing him for a while now. Crits welcome.

First time poster.

I've recently got back into drawing; haven't really drawn anything for over a year. Wanted to prove to myself I still have drawing chops...

This is a work in progress for a minicomic I'm planning. The creature is a daemon familiar, something concocted in a test tube through a sort of pseudo-scientific/thaumaturgic gestation and 'birth' (i.e., not summoned from another plane or dimension).

My first concept (2nd and 3rd sketches) had a more obviously vaginal mouth, but then I decided that was too much. So, I tried something that would hint at an undeveloped nose (since the gill-like ridges on its forehead are its sensory receptors).

Let me know what you think.
