Quick workup, on one of the thumbnails, added a foreground asteroid and tried to pull the probe into the foreground as well.

If you are worried about colors, you could always do a few small color study thumbs before committing to a more final piece. Your paint studies are noticeably helping. Dont forget to practice your drawing skills too though. Anyway keep at it.

Looks like you're starting to nail the values in your environments better in that last one! Colours getting there too. Keep it up man!

Thanks Corza, I keep trying, will keep posting. This one was frustrating because I could see things I wanted to do but just didn't couldn't figure out how to get done. Will do more studies, more practice, and hopefully I'll get it. Thanks again for stopping by.

The legacy of the tredminsters of brushymarsh still lives on I see. It's a pleasure watching your work and observing your improvement.

Hey Vulgar, I really appreciate that man! Yes the legacy of the Brushymarsh lives on. Those fibrous denizens still thrive even though their Tredminsters no longer rule. I really wish I would have pulled that one layer with my sketching off that last drawing, I didn't see it until after I posted but the small grey lines look horrible.

Some color experimentation. Sort of happened when I was making some custom brushes.

Playing around with custom brushes and trying to figure out color. I think it's getting better, but I still need lots of work. I find that every now and then I stumble on something pretty awesome that I can set with dual brush mode, or something that I can just paint with to create new and interesting strokes. This type of fiddling in photoshop to try and create more realistic brush strokes or daubs, whichever I'm trying for has really stirred my interest recently.

Followed a planet making tutorial, pretty neat. Wish I'd seen it when the other EOW was out.

Thanks for posting in my SB,

Getting a cool Mike Corriero vibe from the COW.

I think keep in mind to use refs where possible for all designs, those frog designs seemed very strong.

Also a thing I've noticed has helped me (thanks to a friends advice) is to spend more time on your pictures.
Start a design, and work say a full week on it. Just keep pushing it and pushing it as far as it can possibly go. All my improvements seem to be when im really struggling to push a piece.. It might work for you too

    Great stuff in here ^_^

Be careful about saturating your color too much throughout the piece. I would go for a more subdued look overall and then add hints of saturation here and there where needed to increase significance of the focal point(s). Overall you have been improving...just don't get too frustrated about the color thing. It is seriously hard stuff. That and light punch me in the ballz a lot. So know that you are not alone in this realm of color demons.
