And thus, "appeal to technical skill unrelated to the discussion" was born.
"Astronomy offers an aesthetic indulgence not duplicated in any other field. This is not an academic or hypothetical attraction and should require no apologies, for the beauty to be found in the skies has been universally appreciated for unrecorded centuries."
@Dile_: And why do you feel like you need to tell it to everybody in a discussion which has nothing to do with drawing and skill at all?
edit: I'm not "moved" by your comment but I still would like to know why you had to say something like that.
Will (Dennis, whatever), come on man. I know you sometimes have a tendency to say spiteful things, and to be defensive about them, but it's just not a necessary thing to say. Everyone here wants to get good at drawing, and most people here want to have a career in art, so why discourage them? I know you're a good guy, but maybe the age old "If you don't have something nice to say then don't say it at all" can come into play here. Because who knows, you might not achieve anything with your art either? And it falls into the "not nice" category. It's not constructive, it's just "mean."
Jake, My comment wasn't directed toward anyone. It wasn't mean. As I said above, it was an answer to those people who were being oh so surprised and moved by my first comment. I'm achieving things with my art, and I hope others are as well. And I am not a person to say whatever someone is doing right or wrong. It was, as said, an answer to those people. If I would've had statistics or numbers, I could as well just have had posted those, but now I don't. So this is you, and others, trying to find and bring up drama, for no reason at all.
I wasn't "moved" by your comment, in fact I thought it was rather funny.
I'm secure in who I am as a person, my abilities, and my goals for the future. Goals which are probably completely different than yours.
My point was just that a silly post is a silly post (even Nim admitted that), and the relative drawing abilities of people involved is pretty irrelevant. I'm sure you don't think it was exaggeration. I just wonder why you thought it was necessary, or relevant.
Most of it seemed like light-hearted teasing, anyways.![]()
"Does this rag smell of choloform?"
Works like a charm, well, depending on how much it actually smells of choloform.
I`d totally be in for it myself, given i were in Sweden and you didnt mind some facial hair. I`d show you stuff.
Good luck man![]()

We'll take pictures of ourselves naked doing poses and post them here and let the people decide who the best is!

Has anyone on here actually ever used an online dating site? I feel like it'd be rather counter intuitive to my new strategy of not giving a fuck but sometimes I DO give a fuck and well... Feels bad man. I also have the idea that most of the people on those sites are like 40+.
I found my current boyfriend on OKCupid. We have been together 3 or 4 years now.
Should I hide now? Feels kind of pathethic, but I didn't want someone who picks up girls in a bar and possibly gets drunk on a regular basis. And I often get slightly paranoid in crowds.. I kind of didn't see any other option. If I break up with him, I'll defenitly use the same site again.
I've checked match.com out and there are alot of people in their early twenties. but it seems very generic (big suprise) in terms of eh.. types of people.. sort of soccer&beer guys and makeup&shopping girls seemingly.
I don't want a person that spends their free time with eh.. like.. the world... heh no but consumerism and pop trend occupations... I want a slight aspie person like me who most of her spare time either studies/enjoys art/music but mostly plays/makes it. don't want to feel guilty to not spend time with my gf because I'm making music or art on the computer... much rather have her doing the same thing on the chair next to me, chatting while we're at it and then I'm all for travels like going to stockholm now and then and doing evening courses in something creative but no soap operas, reality shows loafing in the tv couch or meeting new people all of the time (can't handle new people well!)
does this strike a chord with anybody else on here?![]()
Aww, you guys are so harsh sometimes-- what's wrong with being honest and trying to meet someone?

I gladly will await the day when a man doesn't want the generic cover of every Imagine FX/Exotique and other Fantasy girl books and decides that skin tone diversity is a wonderful thing.
When that guy realizes and recognizes diversity in beauty and sees and likes what I have to offer, I'm keeping him.
No I'm not out looking for a guy, that usually happens when I least expect it
I mentioned that place just because places like that, at LEAST there's some kind of filter, and won't meet a girl that could be a dude!
Your prep squad couldn't recognize a decent suggestion, trying to looking out for you, if it stood in front of them & said it.
Finding someone that shouldn't be committed, even among the plain as vanilla set is a problem! Try that among us?! lol![]()

Psh! I think it's better to find someone who supports your artistic ambitions rather than finding someone just like you. I thought I wanted a magical artistic boyfriend too, but the one I got can't draw or sing to save his life. But he's very supportive of me and that's what matters most. If I'm doing some artsy stuff he just plays some video games or reads a book or cooks and everyone's happy.
Also online dating, I had some friends try it. They got lots of dates, but no solid lover. So I've come to view online dating as a way to get out and meet some new people quickly and easily and maybe get lucky.
I know plenty of couples where opposites attracted and stayed together a long time so I think it's a great option to be open to anything. My partner and I are both artists and share a studio. Other than occasional disagreements on musical choices (I cannot work to metal...so the headphones come out for that) getting to work and talk as nim would like to do IS really nice.
I might be interested, let's meet up, I'm from Thatcham, UK. Here is a photo of me:

I'm an aspie so I wouldn't know if that was a joke or not, but now that I've mentioned it I might've offended. you/that lady and her bio scares me![]()
