So I found this really cool website called Character Driven. Its a site where you design characters using their random character generator.
I feel like I have a comfort zone which I don't venture out of enough so I want to do as many of these as possible.
The first character the site generated was a: Colossal Vivacious Nomad. And I came up with this.
It's definately something I would never come up with and I had a blast doing it. Also learned a ton about horses!

These traditional painting's are real nice. Your digital paintings are really cool to. Wish I could give some pointers but I'm not too experienced yet.
You have some interesting things going on here dude. I think the lighting studies
are a good idea, do you feel you are learning much from them doing it raw from
imagination like that?
And another quick question, what kind of setup do you have for your out of the
house art? I've recently bought maybe 4-5 different "kits" in the last 2 weeks and
they aren't working out as well as I would like. Granted they were gouache and acrylic,
how do you feel watercolors are for on the go quicker sketches?
My off the hip critique for you is about your color in your digital sketches. You seem to
really push yourself in the variety of colors in your sketchbook studies, and I feel you
could do that more, but I think translating some of that to your digital work could really
make some sexy things happen. Just an attempt to give you some sort of feedback
between all my questioning!
Just have fun.

Hey!! I absolutely love love love looooooveeeeee your figure studies, the way you use your lines to define form is awesome! I would really love to see more of them in here! And I also really like your digital and traditional paintings, your starting to get really good at texture brushes, keep up the good work!
viki oh: Thank you Viki! Your work is stunning
Aveh: Yes I do feel like I learn alot from those lighting studies. I think Its important to study light from life and then applying it to your own work.
as for my set up for outdoor painting, I use a winsor newton cotman watercolor set with a pentel waterbrush. they both make on the go sketching very convenient
Jonesoda: thank you! keep on trucking!

I put a lot more care into creating a solid composition this time, both in shape and value. Ive read and heard from many people how important it is to have a hierarchy in values that clearly distinguish the major masses in the scene.
I approached this painting with design in mind. I moved around objects and discarded others. Whatever made the image read clearer.

There were a bunch of hens and roosters wandering around just feet away from where we were sketching so it was a great opportunity to learn about these beautiful birds. The roosters especially have just about every color in their feathers.
