Yea, in my last metal object painting, some reflections should've been more soft edged... it was in class work.. ran out of time.. :/ but i learned from that painting a lot.. and how to deal with reflections..

Gorgeous still lifes! You choose spectacular objects (bright colored fruits, shiny metal and glass, I love them, they are a great challenge too) and you paint them nicely too (well as far as I can tell, okay? especially compared your digital works, your traditional ones are levels above that). I love the orange in the current painting a lot .

Great work really good life paintings, maybe soften some of the edges but the colours and values are really good. Looking strong with the charcoal hand study nice subtlety going on there.

Your fruit is beautifully painted. As to the other objects, maybe a little more planning before laying down the paint. Divide the objects into their value zones and get them right. That copper bucket is a bit confusing.

Love the chalk on white - drawing with light. More people should do this.

You have some nice progress in here. However, there are a couple of things that you mayhaps wish to delve deeper into. Take your traditional drawings/paintings and place them next to the digis. I notice a big difference between the two. Your digitals tend to seem very rushed and in the "because its digital it should take less time, no?" mode. This is something that soooo many people think (including myself) and it gets frustrating! Because if you only slowed down even a little bit to find your way along the digis they would come out much better. Your latest figure is the closest to what i mean. Don't rush! Enjoy getting lost in what you love, whether it is traditional or digital.

Also, your faces/heads seem to be hit or miss at times for facial structure. Sometimes you are drawing a very flat set of planes that seem to be clashing with each other and it throws the perspective off on the face. http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...2&d=1352882417 This one comes to mind. Look at the glasses and notice that the right side is very flat and does not recede enough into space. So to solve this (hopefully) don't forget to think about drawing the hidden parts in your brain too. Sometimes you need to make a bit of interpolation to get things right!

Finally, I would LOVVVVEE to see more of your perspective exercises...they have a real creativity to them and are great to learn from Some day maybe I can get a decent pair of perspective eyes

    Keep on trucking man!

I bet it is. Figure painting with a live model is something that I've never tried before, I bet it's hard to restist the urge to rush it through. I get that urge with charcoal let alone slower drying oil paints. You've done a pretty damn good job with these - though the legs look a little off, like you were trying to squeeze 'em on to the canvas. That could just be me though.

All your paintings are rather lovely in fact. You colour pallete is lively and you've got a good grasp of light & form. My faves are your transparent/reflective pieces as they're well observed and I like shiny stuff.
