Hey, thanks for commenting on my SB! I think your stuff is pretty imaginative and fun. Kudos to you for actually doing some environment work. I haven't done much of it personally (and it shows). xD
One suggestion I have is to really focus on values. Right now it feels like a lot of your colors lack "oomph". There just isn't enough contrast between the darks and the lights. It all feels its made of mid tones. Working in grayscale can help. And especially since you work on the computer, DO go back in and check to make sure your values are where they need to be if you do any photo studies.
Otherwise, keep working on your basic drawing skills. Try more still lifes and other direct-from-life-and-observation stuff. I think it'll help.
Keep up the hard work!
Good start on them environments, consider setting up perspective and such when you do them, although from what i can see you are studying from an existing source, but its always good to learn how to construct a scene from scratch- rather than learning to make photo realism at this stage, goodluck![]()
Oh i know how to construct a scene from scratch, but this are just photo studies... no need whatsoever setting up perspective.. it is already set up in the picture itself.

Nice Progress so far. Im digging the 3 pt perspective piece were the space ship and spider type robots are attacking a city. Reminds me of jack Kirby.
I guess i have a bit of advice thats helping me at the moment. Try some cross hatching were the shading follows the form. Kinda like Richard Doble pencil sketches.
Anyway, keep bustin out the studies! =D

Hi matey
Nice environment studies going on but I really want to see some of those little robot dudes in some images. What do they do? clean windows? pack crates? grocery shop or pack the shelves in the market? I can just see them in my minds eye behaving like the three stooges and getting into trouble.
All the best matey, keep posting please I like your work! all the best to you.

You have great traditional skills they surpasses your digitals like waaay, idn feels like your medium for sure.
Yea, that happens when you go to art school and get a lot of traditional training, actually i have pulled back a lot from digital this year.. but im sure when i get back into it, all the knowledge i have gained from this traditional training will push my digital art quality a lot.

The life drawing seemed to help the rest of your art. Nice to see the oils. Might be an idea to put the dimensions of each painting as size does matter.I found painting digitally improved my traditional stuff and vice versa. It's more what you learn when drawing and applying it to other mediums.
oh the paintings are 14x16not so big... just student like sizes..

Love the oils! I am no pro by any means, I don't even come close to being an amateur painter, but I feel that some lines could be more "faded". What's your opinion about this matter?
