Hello CA Netherlands!
If any of you happen to be in Antwerp this Sunday night, April 22, M. Tobias Hall and myself will be doing a live portrait painting demo and lecture at the Nova Cultural center. Entrance is totally free. More details on the poster. Maybe catch some of you there!
Cheers,
Tom

Yeah, I'll post in this thread as soon as I'm attending another SAKB aterlier or going out to draw in public. I'll be away to Zurich next week though and kinda busy after that. So don't know when. But I'd love to tag along to the zoo some time.
Art_Addict: looks awesome, too bad I can't make the time.
By the way: I went to the storyboard workshop by Jim Cornish. Pretty cool stuff even though it was more of a lecture / interview instead of a real workshop. Did anybody else manage to go?
Nope. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go.
Art_Addict: It indeed looks awesome. Too bad I won't be anywhere near Antwerp![]()
Beautiful paintings Tom. Seems like a nice lecture too! Doubt I'll make it though, but you never know.
I've got another idea for a sketchmeet, but I still need to work it out a bit.
The Allard Pierson museum in Amsterdam has a collection of plaster casts from ancient statues. Seems like great study material. Access is unfortunately limited. I'm currently corresponding with them to see whats possible, I'll report later!

The Piersons is cool I was there a couple o'times.
Would love to see the Wackers course, its just so far away.... I'm lazy
Two other things coming up: On Qeensday I'll be makin portraits with other artists in the Westerpark from 11 o'clock on. If someone is interested to join, I can hook you up (or you just come either way).
And then from the 18th May up to 3rd June there is Portrait Month in the Galerie de Stoker (Baarsjes area). You can either watch or see just the paintings on the wall - or join the painting sessions with portrait models - 3 hours for 10 Euro. It is every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 13 to 16 o'clock... I'll be there the first 3 sessions to paint (and host so to speak), and then every Sunday.
Here are the details: http://www.maroesja-lacunes.com/beel...euwsbrief.html
Ther's also a Dr. Skechy's at 20th July apparently... and I was thinking to also organize a portrait session in my studio in May or June. Busy times![]()
I never knew there was here a Netherlands topic, nice!
Im a 3th year student from HKU (high school of art Utrecht), design for virtual theatre and games. I want to practise my drawing more (analog and digital), but doing this at home doesn't work for me. Does anybody knows good workshops to learn more? The only workshops i can find isn't in the Netherlands...I like to draw concept/game art, portraits en city's. Who o who can help me? ^^
I'll be attending SAKB life drawing session in Amstelveen on Wednesday next week again. If anyone wants to meet up: I'll see you there.
@ Inwe: I haven't found any concept art workshops in Dutch, but if you want to practise traditional drawing / painting Wackers academy in Amsterdam is great. Wackers basics is given in the weekends.

Hi guys,
I'll put this in the jobs section as well - but as we're currently focusing on the Netherlands this seems like a good spot as well!
Haven't been active on this site for a while, but i do have some interesting news i guess.
Currently i work at a strategy consulting firm, and we help companies figure out how they can be succesful in the future. BUT we do this in a new, fresh way!
Instead of boring powerpoints and reports we use the power of visuals and animation to help people understand what they need to do. We want to bring the level of quality normally reserved for games and movies to the business world. We are going to shake it up!
At this moment I am creating a list of great people that we can call upon to help us do just that. We are also looking for a small core group that we can work with on a more fixed base.
The work runs from the conceptual and design process of translating the situations and strategies of the companies into visuals, creating and production of these visuals in a few iterations and finally delivering the final product, which can be photoshop, illustratos, print, motion graphics...
What I am looking for are talented, eager people that have a knack for (cartoonish) illustrations, vector work, and preferably skills in coming up with images and asking the right questions.
If you have what it takes I'd love to look at some work and hopefully meet to tell you more.
Please send me an email at Erik.van.der.pluijm (at) businessmodelsinc.com
Looking forward to your responses!
Erik
Hey there, is there anyone from the neighbourhood of Doetinchem? It might be a too small town but I hope to find some people to get weekly meet-ups with. If there is anyone please leave a message or pm.
Hey guys 'n gals. I'll be sketching at the Naturalis museum on a saturday or sunday somewhere in the next few weeks. Looks like they have awesome stuffed animals / skeletons to draw: http://www.naturalis.nl/nl/het-museu...oonstellingen/.
Let me know if you're interested in joining me and we'll work out a date.
Teylers museum in Haarlem is showing a collection of drawings by Raphael. This might be even more interresting to do first, since it's temporary. Anyone up for this?
I'm up!
Can probably shift work around, so I'm most likely flexible when it comes to picking a date.
