Yep, well it is the Netherlands discussion after all... If you want a drawing group in Portugal i'd suggest setting it up! It's not that hard i think ;-) good luck!

I'll do this in English since there may be non-dutchies that want to attend to the Masterdam sketch thang anyway.

About the location: Well, i contacted Wackers but they are leaving the building april 30th and will move to a new location in the summer. So for the time being there is no space at their place, in the fall they're open to suggestions.

So... we need a location for the mean-time. Wietse, did you manage to find something? nbT you had some info on it too...

All we would like to do for now is to find a one-time location, i.e. just get together and draw for one time and see who comes in and how it goes. We are therefore looking for a location that will hold some max. 15 people, has easels (preferably), is cheap and has some privacy if we get a model there.

I'm moving to a new house right now so i haven't got much time the coming week but my plan is to arrange all this in the coming three weeks and get this thing started!

Any help is appreciated, it's not so much work but please contribute and don't just consume ;-)

And this is for the other people in NL that think they're too far away: find some others in your area and set it up for yourself! It's not so difficult, at least less difficult than setting up the whole workshop, so get to it and you'll have your sketch group. If you keep waiting for it it will never happen ;-)

yeah i had a space too
i mailed you about it. they rent space for artists, they must hava access to models and materials. ill see if i can drop by them in the weekend. get some info.

if the space thing doesnt work out (wich i doubt) theres always a milion other things to do/go to. vondelpark. bars. we can go do portraits. nature excursions. visit the zoo. visit classic statues exhibitions. stuff like that. most of it is for free.

Next year it could be in Groningen for all I care (which is exactly NOT where I live) because I`ll have my OV card then!

But for now I`ll just wish you good luck.

Btw, this is just a wack suggestion, but at my school there`s tons of classrooms that are hardly ever used and we got easels too. It`s not really central, but perhaps there are schools which could rent space and the material somewhere more central.

Hey nbT thanx for the effort dude! I hope it will work out! And you're right, i think we should all meet up soon and have some beers on the whole thing. Vondelpark sounds great, but it will have to be somewhere next week for me ;-)

Invading the Vondelpark actually sounds kind of nice too.

I live in Hilversum(, which is very close to Utrecht) so I could look around for a space there. You can't get any more central than that, right?

If we do meet up next week Wednesday's best for me. I never have classes on Wednesday.

I'm game, but I need to know pretty far in advance so I'll probably try to set something up myself, but it won't happen until august... why? Because I have done pretty much drawing by then and spent two weeks in zwitserland (?) landscape painting wheeeee...

well i checked out this space for artists in amsterdam. it seems there are all sorts of artistic companies wich rent the space. also seemed noone was home.
