Red - I'm Dave Hunt - we went to tokeland long ago and lit off bombs on the 4th of july. Remember Chief Charlie cigs and those fools getting their car stuck in the sand? those were the dayz.

Scuro is one of my characters from an animated film I'm making called ChiaroScuro

    http://www.klocktower.com/chiaroscuro

http://www.klocktower.com/chiaroscuro/movies.htm - check out the "You Win" movie. Work in progress, still very rough.

It was great to meet all you fantastic artists last week, can't wait to see the stuff that people produce this Saturday. I went home last friday and was so wired with all the new stuff I learned that I couldn't sleep. Can't wait to get over-stimulated again!

Xia: Sketch jam sounds like a great idea!

Hey, Dave Hunt! This is Sarah... you know, David York's friend? (I'm going to get so mixed up with all of these Daves... how many is that now, three? Four?) It would be very cool if you could come to our next gathering, it was a blast and it would be very fun to meet you.

ImpHead: I learned SO much from you Friday night! I ran out and got an anatomy book (Dynamic Anatomy), and redid that picture that you were helping me with. Now I've gotta put my head down and really learn it.

RupturedGasTank: are you gonna show me those crazy monster things you were talking about the other night? You should bring the drawings next time! Maybe if I can make myself go to Kinkos, I could print out some of the digital pictures I've done.

Friday would work for me, but I think so would Saturday. Can't wait!

    -Sarah

You will be getting a little something in the mail shortly

I'll be there this weekend...don't matter if it's Friday or Saturday. If it's Saturday, I get to leave the 100+ person family reunion early but I'll miss Pretty Girls Make Graves at Showbox. If it's on Friday, I get to leave the family reunion early to go to Showbox!

    See yall this weekend. :waves:

Edit: I'll try to remember to bring some of my notes from Austin. They are a hard to read, unfortunately.

Hey Dave, Yes...I totally remember you and the Klocktower stop motion movie you did. I cannot recall how many people I showed that footage too. Some impressive work! I'll check out the newer work today. Scuro is a good name for ya! And yes, I totally remember Chief Charlie and having firework face offs on the beach. That was awesome!

I'll check in with my wife re: getting some sketch time in at 8 on Saturday. We have a pretty busy schedule, but I think it can happen. Hope to see many peeps there!

    Cheers!

    Hey all,

Had a GREAT time hanging with you guys and gals. I also wanted to say it freaked the crap out of me when I first got there and started talking and all of you descended on me like a pack of wolves... hehe :chug: I'm glad to hear that my train-of-thought ramblings actually did some good.

Unfortunately, I can't make it this week as I'm trying to get ready for San Diego but in the mean time here's a cool link I found just today for all you anatomy phreeks.

well crap... seems like this thing got poplular! Didn't know there were this many cool people around seattle... anyway, I'll have to go to one of these things sometime. Unfortunately I live closer to tacoma then to seattle and I don't have a car. I could take the buses but I'd have to leave earlier to make sure I actually catch a bus back.

I can't wait till I manage to move closer to seattle... I'll definately be up for doing this every week when that happens... till then just save me a seat!

Wow, Scuro, cool! Glad to see you might show up. If the meeting is Saturday this time I should be able to make it - I have a lunch date Friday' which may cut too late into the evening. That would be so cool if you and Sapphire could ACTUALLY MEET in person! To think...

Talkin' about Digipen? guess you went there and prostate's going to? I went there in 2001-2002. Only went a year.... couldn't really afford another LOL... plus I didn't get much out of the instructors then (different ones now... except Abbott's still there) I basically taught myself while going there and I realized I didn't really enjoy the animation part LOL.

Honestly though, I didn't really mind Abbott... filling 50-100 pages a week in my sketchbook was great cause I actually got a break from the 3d stuff. Plus Abbott didn't really yell and hound me about pages when I didn't have 'em all like he did with everyone else.... just because I'm so damn cool.

Anyway, if you weren't talking about Digipen.... well... this post is kinda dumb then

i wasnt, but dont worry about it. i did something like 100 pages a week for the 3 quarters i had abbott at AIS. 12 to 16 hours of studio life drawing a week, plus any waking minute of my life was spent drawing something.

sigh, those were the days. still trying to recapture it.

Uh-oh... something came up for me this Saturday. I am going to be going to see the Seattle Symphony perform the Lord of the Rings at 2 pm this Saturday, and I'm not sure what will be up with me for the rest of the day... I'll probably be with my boyfriend, and since he lives in Puyallup, I'm not sure how long we'll be hanging out, or if he would want to drive me to Seattle. I'll have to call him today and find out what's up, but if I can't make it, I hope everybody has fun! Is it the same place as before?

    PS: Got it, Scuro, thanks!

digipen is a pretty good school, but im not too into the whole animation thing either, its fun, but i dont wake up every morning thinking 'damn i cant wait to animate!'. im mostly teaching myself also, the instructors arent much different now than when you went.

hey this SD watts kid is going to be in seattle the 12-15th of aug and is looking to draw!!!! getting dragged to my aunts wedding which happens to be on my birthday. not my ideal location for my birthday but hey... what can i do? so to make a bad weekend a good one i figured if you guys are up we can meet somewhere and hangout and draw.

    -dns

ps--- just read through the last couple pages and i am envious... you guys have a good thing going... we are on our second week of the watts people showing up to rons house and sketching. it is so much fun i would love to hang with you guys who went to austin again. i love being around like minded individuals, it pushes me to draw more and get better faster.
