Trevor's is quite simple and casual. And by casual, I mean that usually things deteriorate into a knife fight where someone ends up being called a nancy and most people leave crying.

Car wreck on the 22 kept me from being there in long beach on time...I actually arrived at 8:45...annnnd no one was there

i totally showed up tonight

and then i stayed there until 9, walked to the bus stop and read the sign that said
"last bus @ 7:35"

PWND hahahahaha
had to call my mom to come pick me up. wasn't a total loss tho, got some cool sketches done. one of the guys there saw me drawing, turns out he's an illustration major, so i got to kick it with another artist..sort of, hehe

since the last bus leaves at 7:35, it's kinda pointless for me to go down tere to hang for 35 minutes, so i guess i won't show up again until i get my car fixed or a new one, sorry =\

anyways, looks like i'll be moving up to santa cruz. i'll probably be there for a year or two before i come back sooooo
not sure on a date yet, but i'll let you guys know. i'd like to hang out at least one more time before i take off. and i'll be back at least once a month. it's only a 5 hour drive, heh

Hey all,

Thought I'd pass this along to anyone else interested in a free one and a half hours of figure drawing on Monday. I've been emailing around on Craigslist for jobs and this came up-here's the email I got back copied directly:

We will be filming on Monday, Jan. 19th, most likely in West LA from
2pm - 4pm. (I am just making final arrangements with the art studio
and can confirm with you after that.) We would love to have you come
to the class! There will be a nude model there, and we'll be bringing
some supplies but if you would like to bring your own, that would be
great!

There will be some interuption in the class for the purpose our
filming, but it will be fun and (hopefully!) funny.

I talked with them and it's located in West LA and the finalized time is 1:30-3PM. They said bring friends, if I care to (looking for collegeish age) so I thought I'd pass it along. Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you're interested. Should be fun.

So I just moved here and wanted to figure out where there's figure drawing in this city. Here's what I found:

Dr. Sketchy - every other Sunday, $10 - looks like a fun scene
Lynn Studio - Wednesdays, 7p to 10p - $7
Avenue 50 Studio - Tuesday, 7pm to 10pm - $10
The Drawing Club - 7-10 Thursday $20; one Sunday a month 10am-1pm (a bit steep for me, but short poses and costumed for those interested)
List of more figure drawing classes around town - got some of links from here

Does anyone know what the deal at the Animator's Union is? I think it's only two month long classes (not drop ins)
Does the Illustrator's guild do anything around here? (In NY there was a Jazz & figure drawing 3 hour session every week at the SoI where a few CAers would meet up)
Also is there any figure drawing at USC, UCLA, cal-state or any other colleges around the area? Free would be nice. Cheap would be nice too.
