Christmas is over! Excited to get back to drawing. Some crap to get us going. Trying some new stuff, not sure how I like it but was fun nonetheless.

hey kvenh,
pretty cool stuff - i really liek some of your new enviroments
maybe you could bring some action into them, it looks a bit like you strictly divide the topics char/enviroment/still life/scifimachine etc, putting some characters or vehicles or buildings into imaginative landscapes can make then a lot more "alive", like this one here http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1324242543 it could really need some "spice"... like a sorcerer with a red cloak that floats in the wind, or a shamans hut or a scout vehicle etc..

keep up posting, your work is very promising

xbert: Thanks alot for the crit! You're totally right. I can't seem to be able to create interesting paintings. I've been trying to break out of my comfort-zones and create something new but I haven't had much luck so far. I feel like every time I'm adding something - as you just said I should - I feel like I'm just doing it to solve some compositional problems. Thanks again! I'll try to pay more attention.

It looks like you are using a lot of simple strokes with various sized brushes... AND YOU CREATE THAT!? I mean, it kind of makes sense to me with the environments, but the armor... *amazed*
I so need to train observation!

In general, you have a great sketchbook and would definitely like to see more
