This is just too good to be sketches Can you maybe explain how you go about making these paintings? What kind of reference do you use, if any?

    Your environments are splendid!
They have a lovely luminous quality to them and there a lot of good compositions here, too.
Sometimes the values are a little out of whack.(too much contrast in some areas, mushy in others)
Colorwise you could be a little more daring because most of the stuff here is pretty monochrome and muted. Try to incorporate a bigger gradient from saturated to unsaturated colors for more drama!

    Keep up the good work!

    ANtY93, hahaha, thanks mate =)

MeteorCat, huh, i can try to explain it I usually start most of my stuff in greysale, helps me to focus on composition and values. At the start i just put some random, huge shapes on the canvas, no matter if i have a good idea how the final image should look alike or not, i just dont like to sit in front of a white canvas and it often causes some happy accidents When i feel comfortable with the values and basic composition i introduce some colors, mostly with different blending modes and adjustment tools (overlay, color, softlight, color balance...). From there on its just refinig and drawing until i feel i am done with it
But it always depends on the sbject, sometimes i do a very refined greyscale drawing before i add color and sometines i use color very early...

I usually try to force myself to use a lot of references as often as possible, although i didnt use any for the last sketches... But i think my stuff turns out more believable if i work with references rather than from imagination.

When it comes to my references i prefer photos. Some time ago i often used other artists work as reference too, but i think you can get much more out of a photo. A drawn picture always is an interpretation of something and you ll never find as much information in it like in a photo, hope you know what i mean and it helps you a bit

Xelar, first of all, thank you mate Colors are really something i often feel very uncomfortable with, definitely need to practice this more to get some more variety and better color schemes.

    kidult, thank you!

    Some random stuff from yesterday...
