You are a cute one *laughs* You always cheered me up, don't embarrass me, my level is so tiny But I know one thing or two and I can relate to beginner problems, being a beginner myself.
I just had to reply Thanks, I really had a good "yayme. sssh, you" laugh. I'm tired because the Van Dyk portrait study I'm drawing is harder than I expected but now I feel better.
    Thanks ~

I guess your reference is the photo I found when I googled for Al Pacino photos In that almost certain case, his head in the reference is slightly tilted but not in yours, it caused some small flaws around regarding the mouth and nose. Apart from this, the sketchiness and the soft, blurry look, I don't see much to mention. Oh there's another one, you could push the values a lil bit more, I mean the light ones, your black can't be better I guess

Hey, nice work you have going here. I enjoyed the last portrait, the values are looking good (although I haven't seen the original).

I think what you need to do right now is lay down the basic image in high opacity, big brushstrokes. Maybe you've heard this before, but I really think laying down solid shapes and values first helps build the final image. Right now I see too many low opacity brushstrokes in your work, which isn't necessarily a bad thing though. But I think laying down broad strokes first helps.

Have a look at this post by the brilliant Min Yum. It might be of help. Anyway, don't mind my nagging, and keep doing art. Best of luck.

Also try to keep your brushes hard on the beginning of the painting, this helps. You will be able to blur things you need later on. Keep it up.

So hello to anyone who sees this iam back still studying still drawing and stuff. as i have mentioned before in here, i dunno if this is the right place to post stuff but anyways at art school iam studying graphic design and the things which we are learning tend to be quite different from the whole concept-art part.
Anyways i want to learn about illustration both digital and traditional plus be a good graphic designer (pretty hard task hehe)but i am ready for it.Bring it on.
I ve been in art school for about 4 months and here are some of my personnal studies.Crits and comments are most usefull so by all means shoot!!!!

You've progressed a lot I see. You really have a unique sense of style in a lot of your work that I find fascinating. Your figure drawings have improved tenfold since you begin. Congrats to that!

Btw, I really like the tree you did near the top of this page. I think it looks fantastic and the colors really worked well.

Oh you are back! Nice variety in your new stuff. I'd give the fly trooper more fly anatomy details, they looks so amazing from close... For example, their wings are much cooler than what you drew.
Did I mention the 'one eye gap "rule"' to you before? It's usually good to stick to that. I drew zillions faces in my life and I still tend to make eyes slightly too large but it's no good. They should have a gap of one eye width between them, sometimes it's a lil bit more, sometimes a lil bit less but more than that and the face almost always becomes weird. I even like very few cartoon faces when they broke this "rule".
