    Trend? It actually has been going on for a long time. These things just don't come into the US market very often though.

    If you try searching Amazon.co.jp, they have all kinds of reference books geared for manga artists, including buildings, classrooms, train stations, etc. They usually go for around 20 dollars more or less, without shipping.

    That's why building fundamentals is important, its no secret that even manga-ka use a lots references. These "pose files" are everywhere in Japanese bookstores - it'd be great if US bookstores had the same - as opposed to the really poorly illustrated and written "how to draw manga" books that I've seen.

    ah, this is why i didnt know about them.
    when i looked for htd books in my manga phasee i just got my mom to drive me to barnes and noble.
    maybe this is why pivix has a much higher quality of anime than da?

    I think it has alot to do with how Japanese people in general highly value things like hard work.

    I chuckled a little. If anything this stuff kicks the crap out of Chris Hart, so it has something to be proud of, even though it's probably messing people up regardless.
