    Good stuff!
I like the self portrait comparison, it really shows your progress. The new one has some really slick lighting details around that near eye.

With studies like the final post, I recommend using a flat colour similar to the image background, instead of a flat grey. When you work on a darker colour the values are different and you'll over/under compensate

If you slap your image on top of the old one, you can compare the colours and see the difference much more easily. and it looks like he has an entourage .

That's a good tip. I need to work more on backgrounds anyway. I keep trying to push my color knowledge, but damn this shit is hard ;P

Here is some more work, including a commission to paint Megan Fox with blood on her lips (don't ask why) and the final on that knife dude from earlier. Tried to push the colors a bit more and polish some areas.

This was the first sketch and it sucked so we decided on a different expression/ pose.

    Better?

    Pretty early WIP

Finally got my lazy ass to take photos of the sketches I completed last year, so here is some work from last year (more will follow).

I know probably no one cares about me posting this crap, but I want to have everything in one place, easy to glance at whenever I want to see my work and spot mistakes.

Here is another imagination face. I'm trying to push myself with these, less time and more detail. Looks bad, but yeah... Also here are more older traditional sketches. Some faces from photos some Hogarth and some more perspective attempts.

    Hey Dracken!

Thanks for your advice on my thread! It's really cool to see what you're working on. I like that you really focus on a couple of things at a time and perfect it (the feet!). I'm definitely going to be looking into the website you linked to on my website. Seems that all of your studies are working wonders for you! Still wanting to finish Drawing on the Right Side of the brain before diving in too deep, but I'm pretty far into it now!

I'm amazed at your diversity of styles and skills! Very inspiring! I was thinking about getting Hogarth's book on drawing the head, I found the approach really helpful. Anyways, thanks again for the advice, I'm now subscribed to this thread, it's awesome!

    Thank you for the comment

Long rant (mostly so I remember what the hell I'm doing when I read this later.)

I've been following Isra's perspective workshop for about a month now and while I'm learning a lot I've come to realize my ability to draw straight lines or confident ellipses is pretty close to 0. This is incredibly frustrating after almost 2 years of doing art so I figured I should sit down and do something about it.

After some quick searches I found the Dynamic Sketching master class on CGMA. Since I'm poor taking the class is a pipe dream, but with some more searching I think I can pretty much figure out what the homework for each week is and what the main ideas behind the class are so I'll try my best to follow along.

For (my) future reference here are some student blogs talking about the class and the homework.

    Gina Florio
    Tyler Chow
    Creative checkpoint
    Jonathan Nagel

Unrelated but somewhat interesting class course

Anyhow, here are some quick sketches of the 5 basic shapes, a bamboo (Plan to do a plant a day for the next week) and some old portraits I forgot I drew. Probably photo reff.

    Thank you, thank you!

Here is more perspective work, trying to understand round objects and texture and a quick life study. I tried to draw most of the objects in the perspective study by hand.. and failed quite a lot, but hey such is life.

Good job, i remember it wasn't very easy to understand round volumes at the beginning so i thought to a square and put a circle inside then i thought to symetrical axes, it was interesting to think there is an infinity of axes to draw a circle and how you must think to it to create ellipses...

There's some sexy perspective studies in here, yo!

I've been following Isra's perspective workshop for about a month now and while I'm learning a lot I've come to realize my ability to draw straight lines or confident ellipses is pretty close to 0. This is incredibly frustrating after almost 2 years of doing art so I figured I should sit down and do something about it.
I hit that wall at one point too. Keep doing the scrap paper exersizes and do some line studies. Practice drawing lines that start thick and end thin, start thin and end thick, or patterns of thick-thin-thick-thin.
Also practice drawing curves and angles that are identical or gradually increase / decrease. It's one of those 5 minuet warm ups that end up making worlds of difference.
cleaning your work without a digital line might not look as nice, but it will help you gain better line control.
I really think all that perspective is doing good things in here. keep up all the hard work!!

Holly cow, the comment floodgates have opened... I don't think I have ever seen so many people interested in my work. Thank you all, this is incredibly encouraging. I'll try my best to go back and review everyone's SB.

Here is something interesting for compassion sake, my first life drawing session and my last one two years apart. Still not there, but improving

And here is some new stuff as well. Loose sketches with pen, to improve my line quality (which all look like crap because they are straight in pen) and a photostudy I really tried to push
