Ahhhh I get you, thats totally fair enough!! Keep trying it hehe.

Nice to see you rocking your studies still, but try jotting in the shape of the next one in like... a 3H pencil or very light lines, then go back over the top with a 3B pencil, take your time with it and keep going til every bits been drawn in (your controller studies and some of your doodles are missing buttons and eyes etc).

Keep going til the image is done!

@BlightedArt: Yes, I agree about finishing the images. I sometimes stop because I get discouraged in the middle but I really should keep going. I think I'm going to attempt longer studies, so hopefully I'll have more finished images posted in the future.

Here's todays stuff. As always the photos suck and my drawings suck as well:

Whew! long day today but I was able to attend a figure drawing session so heres the crap I did:

This is the worst of the lot. I cut of the head of the first one and I didn't even finish the second one (about 5min all together):

Your proportions tend to change from drawing to drawing, usually is the head that gets little while the torso and abdomen enlarges... Try to get proportions right before you start to detail on those 15 min sketches, keep practicing and im sure you'll be more aware next time ^^. I see a lot of potential in your drawings, just keep going, don't stop ^^

@rokushoxxx: Yeah, proportions are always difficult for me, I sometimes think about defining them before I start but I end up just eyeballing and not seeing the errors. Thanks for pointing it out, next time I'll try using the traditional proportions to try and get it right.

Todays crap. I seem to have a lot of trouble with rendering and value. It doesn't seem like I learned anything this summer but I guess I'll have to keep trying:

Well, this is it for today. Tomorrow I start regular community college, not art school. I hope to at least try to go to art school before 2013 but it's hard to focus sometimes. I may not have time for daily updates but I will try and I'll keep drawing just regardless

    @BlightedArt: Thanks I'll try to!

Pathetic update today. I'm really tired and because of school, which does not include any art courses this semester, I barely drew today. I've got to budget my time better:

Ughh, Just as bad as yesterday. I'm starting to think I should just stop going to CC but for that I would need a steady job. Ah well, I guess it'll work out:

You've got to spend more time on this stuff and put in more effort. Measure out the proportions, check your values against the reference, otherwise you're not going to learn much and in 5 years you will still be drawing like this. Basically I see no enthusiam in your drawings it looks like it's a bunch of stuff you have no interest in. You've drawn that same box in perspective a lot of times, enough of it, get some photos of buildings and put those principles to work. I dare you!

Agreeing with armando, draw fewer objects and just spend more time on one of them. don't be afraid to experiment with different media to keep it interesting or different drawings styles (but to REALLY learn just try draw what you see pretty beauracratically).

to answer your question I use Maya.

@armando: I agree with you, and sometimes I am drawing pretty much half heartedly. I sometimes don't know how much time to spend on things either or get bored and lose interest in one thing and move on to the next. I will try to put in more time and effort. About the perspective, I think I can go outside or find some good reference for it and attempt that. I really appreciate the input, thank you for that.

@BlightedArt: Yes, I know. I've really not been trying much and school has made it worse, but that's more of an excuse for what is really my laziness. Using other mediums would be cool, the only other ones I have really used are charcoal and conte. I think I understand what you mean by bureaucratically, but could you elaborate on that if it's not too much trouble? Also, maya sounds like a cool program I hope you enjoy using it.

Now I wish I had better stuff to post instead of this nondescript stuff but I've got to post something or I'll feel like a useless idiot:

Alright, Today I took a little more time on the drawings. Here they are:

On this one I took 30-50 minutes. I messed up the spheres shading and the rest of it is a bit confusing.
    Name: DSCF2985.jpg
Views: 149
Size: 189.1 KB

On this one I took 50 minutes to an hour. I measured the angles improperly and the camera ( on the left) is skewed.
    Name: DSCF2987.jpg
Views: 144
Size: 348.0 KB

    and heres some quick stuff.
    Name: DSCF2989.jpg
Views: 143
Size: 233.2 KB

I know they're really poor and uninteresting, but I'm trying to do better.

Another crappy cast drawing. Took about about a half hour to 45 minutes. I should have taken more time and really payed attention to getting the proportions down before rendering :
