That's too bad your class is ending. I like the two heads that are seen from the back, one of the ladies has a great facial shape. The life drawing all have a good flow going for them as well.

twilitmoon777: Thanks, I'll try!
Reutte: Yeah it kind of sucks that I don't have a stable life drawing place now but I think I can get to some sessions this summer. Thanks for the compliment, I try to get the pose down well but it usually doesn't turn out well. By the way, your post isn't showing up on the main page, just the reply part, I wonder if my page is broken or if it's the whole site?
First, to my SSG, I hadn't noticed that my sketchbook was not in line with you guy's and it makes it feel like I'm separate and I'm really sorry for taking so long to fix it. So another week and not so much to show for it, just some old stuff from the last few weeks.
Some life drawings:
Hand drawings:
Here's one of the skeleton that was posed for us in class. I was a really great opportunity. I am now in complete agreement with Robert Hale on buying a skeleton and must now save up to buy one:
And some slightly old drawings of those geometric shapes:

Hello. You're studies are really improving, you should be pleased! I can see the growing confidence in your gesture drawings, the lines have become very fluid and strong. Keep it up! I think you should redraw that michelangelos David image in post 43, looks great and looks like you really enjoyed doing it! I bet you could really nail it now. How long did it take btw? - would be good to say how long you're taking on these images. Take care and well done.
Saw your Peck studies, that's what I'm working from right now, haha! Had fun looking through your sketches here, keep it up!

Dayle: Hey thanks. I think the raphael master study took me about a half an hour. I have definitely wanted to do more master studies. About the time of my drawings,;most are short drawings like the figure gestures and are about 30sec to 5-15min. The drawings of the man in clothing are about 30 min.
RomanRiot: Thanks. Yeah Peck's anatomy is great, I hope you get through it.
Alright, it's been a little while. I was a bit discouraged after seeing some other artist's from the renaissance and later(including Russian drawings which are really great) but I decided to try to draw more and think less about it, but haven't been drawing as much as I should have. But anyway here's some stuff from the past few weeks:
From Imagination. I decided to try to do one figure from imagination each week:
And a page of drawings from my last trip to the zoo:

Good to have you back. I wouldn't let the old Masters scare you off. More try to learn from them, or be inspired.
Nice stuff. Sorry, nothing specific to say today.

Thanks Asatira. It's just that lot's of that stuff is so great that it makes me feel like I'll never measure up, but I suppose I should just stop worrying and draw.
More drawings; animal figure etc.,
Don't usually put my crappy imagination stuff up here, but I had to sometime:
Ugh this stuff is from the only life drawing sessions I've been in since class ended, and it sucks:

So more stuff, life drawing and the last of the animal drawings from my trip to the zoo:
Shape study, about 5-15min:

More stuff, just from the life drawing session on wednesday. The first four images are from 5 minute poses, the next three are 20 min and the last two are from a 45 min pose in 15 minute increments:

Did a master study of a da vinci drawing today. It took about 30-40 mins, I should have taken more time on it because it looks awful:

Hi KT, returning the sbook comment.
Going to the zoo? That. Is. Fucking. Brilliant. Doesn't it make you a little nervous to have a ton of onlookers around you though? If not, that's very respectable. You're right on with your Da Vinci self-crit, but then again, it's not horrible given that you worked so fast on it. I think that being able to draw well QUICKLY is a pretty useful skill to practice. Depends on your end goals. Stuff that's got short deadlines or requires a larger volume of output would definitely favor a faster (and usually stylized) approach.
Anyway, I've rambled. You're on the right track with your studies. Just keep plugging away!
Sketchbook came soon: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=226335

Hey thanks Strato! Going to the zoo is fun, not too many people bother me because I'm not very good. Yeah, I agree that being quick is another skill to have, though I wish I would do longer studies. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I hope you keep working too.
Well here's some sketchbook stuff from the last couple of weeks:

So I have decided to try and update daily in an attempt to get myself to draw more and motivate myself. I have also made a schedule for myself which I will attempt to follow. So heres what I have from yesterday and today:

It's good that you're referring to master studies.Maybe in that last instance you could benefit more from roughly jotting out the proportions / blocks of body parts and comparing them proportionately to the master study before you render them out. Block in the shapes, sizes and locations of parts then detail them, and you might benefit more from proportional studies.
@BlightedArt: Thanks for visiting my sketchbook. Yes I really should have blocked it in or used some method of measuring, but I guess I wanted to see how accurate I could be without measurement. I will next time though.
Not much today, Just some perspective drawing and object drawing. I think I skewed the perspective a bit and I should have used a straight edge of some kind:

Some more stuff. Anatomy perspective and the last one is a figure drawing from imagination:

Here's todays crap:

You put so much effort on learning, its so cool to see that kind of commitment with what you love.... i think this might help you if you want to practice human figure and animals... it will train you on speed and variety of poses to draw without having to look for them or change them.. you just have to draw... XD

i find helpfull to draw 1 minute gestures... hope it helps![]()
@rokushoxx: Thanks for the comment. I wish I was more committed than I am now, it just seems like I've been drawing more but I really haven't. Thanks for the link too. I've seen that site before but never really used it, maybe I should try it?
Here is the small amount from today. I really have to try and draw more:

Honestly, yes I'm not the first one to say this, or the last one... but it's great to see artists like yourself that are really devoted to their art and to themselves to get better everyday....
The only thing I would say is = all your drawings are sketches, but really simple sketches: with few lines and basic shapes, etc. Yes! you are learning right now, but maybe in the futur, I would suggest taking a few more minutes per sketches, nothing more, to make more complete sketches. Because that way, you won't only learn how to make proportions right, but also you will have learn bits of general lightning understanding, muscle structure understanding, etc.

Keep up with your figure studies, they will help you a LOT !
@Mr.Goblin: Thanks for the comment. I'm not really dedicated, it just looks like it, I don't draw a lot out of the day but thats why I decided to make daily updates so I could get myself to draw every day even if it is just a little bit. I agree that most of what I have is sketches, I've been kind of afraid to try to do any longer drawings besides the couple master studies I've done, I do plan to try though so thanks for the suggestion.
@TomDeVis: Thanks I will. Going this wednesday in fact.
Here's more of my crap. Anatomy and a some sketchbook stuff:
Here are a few sketchbook pages drawn from imagination:
