a new book AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!! heh awesome stuff i be watchin i will!
what's wrong with old one?
M
i concur with M ^^
dig the speeds brother!
keep those sargent studies going man. you improve like 100 times every time you do one.
sooo coool!
I have a lot of things to say about this... so this is a response to anyone thinking about it or commenting on it! haha (I'm looking at you MattGamer :@..oh and you bapsi)
Its old, it smells funny, the first pages are starting to rot, I'd rather be spending the time focusing on improvement, starting and feeling just a tiny bit more fresh. Thats how *I* work. I get discouraged and de-motivated when I have a bag of things with stuff I don't want anymore, stuff I want to be finished with, finito baam whoom crash, done. It's a mental thing, it's taking up space in my brain that i'd rather fill with new, which I'm doing right now. It does get down to that I feel a certain relief when I am done with something, it's how I work, I've tried to do it before, but I've always gone with the flow, that is the mentality of _others_, not myself, here on CA.org and gone back to doing something I ultimately don't want, or need.
I know this might look like the biggest smallest-problem in the world to some, and it feels kinda stupid going about it this seriously, but it does matters to me. This small little dumb bag of old-stuff just sits there and suck all my motivation away from picking my sketchbook up and start drawing and posting the stuff that I draw, for comments and critique, like I did way back, when stuff did felt new and fresh. I've always gone on art-hiatus, instead of the other way around, the times I've started a new sketchbook, this is not the time for a hiatus, it's a time to improve, focus on my own stuff, and feel good about doing my own work. My last sketchbook is a filled canvas. And I've tried to erase things from it that I didn't like to get space to fill with new stuff, but now the page is too worn out, its done haha.
Again, I'm sure this seems like a really stupid thing to most of you, but I don't care haha.. this is my new sketchbook, and I'm gonna stick to it, and even post some drawings in here haha.
On a sidenote :
I hope to get some crits & pointers from you, I am really liking your stuff M, and it's great everytime I see new stuff from you, always gets better. So thank you for looking, and understanding

Oh man, a new book! You better keep this one updated ALL the time.
You are already off to a good start (was surprised though to see that I recognized some from Sijun speedpaint thread though haha).
We should do some studydomes again soon.

That last girl is nice, I love how loose parts of it is, yet it still holds together really well. I find something about her face is a little harsh (for a lack of a better word). Not sure what exactly it is, maybe the hard edges or the pure white of the skin.
Oh, and freaking post the other stuff in here! I know you have at least 8 more Sargents and that test piece for that colour thing I couldn't understand last night. You are a studying BEAST, now just show us all how much you do and how good you are.

Thanks guys!
Nice Self-portrait ryan
here is a sp of me D;
Happy birthday man! I thought I posted in here saying that already, but I guess not haha.
I like the ladies in post 19. Self portrait can use some more work though, cleaning up edges and stuff, and the nose is a bit out of perspective I think.
And don't be so picky about what you post. This is the sketchbook section, not finally finished. Not everything has to be amazing. Post the other stuff too, you can get more feedback on why they aren't working as well, and it also helps motivate others (cough me cough) to see how much you are doing and how hard you are working.
PS: And you better win some TC's soon too!

Structure looks way better on this one! Very good sense of forms. Keep it up man, and hopefully we can talk again soon (shame that when I am usually on MSN it is like 4-8AM for you).
