    I liked the concepts,
i think you could make it more visible in terms of line weights,
more graphical representation of the water wave and flower.

    Hey Steve,

I like your 1st logo, everything is ok here but the second logo need some fixing.
I would suggest you replacing the font with something that will fit. Something playful, strong and "green"... also, play a little bit with the fonts and styling (line weights).

I really like both of these... the Buddhist Center one really has a peaceful Asian feel to it, like you are meditating in a Japanese garden, so it fits with the calmness of Buddhism, and the RMIT University one does a great job of conveying the target theme visually and on-topic, so I'd say you nailed both of them well. Great work!

EDIT: I just noticed above you asked about line weight, which is also called stroke, in both Photoshop and Illustrator. Basically the stroke is the thickness of your outline, not your fill. So say if you make a red circle, and have it filled with solid red, if you select say a 5pt stroke, the outline part of the red circle will increase in thickness. Again, I can only speak for both Photoshop and Illustrator, which I use, but things and terms may vary with other software.
