arh, i really want a scanner!
ive been doing some life drawing, and i was pretty happy with the latest one, my hand for once was doing what my brain was telling it to do. but no point in shwing it with shitty ipod pictures.
anyways, some quick studies....(excuses to post!)

nice anatomy studies. If you get a chance with your life drawings, have you tried to do longer poses, or include some of the environment with the figure, or do you do many short poses in your class?

Also, have you done any formal/ free hand perspective work? I've found that can really help you to draw from imagination and strengthen how you see form.

    good stuff

aaa, tomorrow im scanning some shit!

aaand, i did some good dose of fanboyism today.
found out that IdiotsApathy is acctually tom scholes... ive been reading his tuts/demos for like a month. and 2 weeks ago i he came to my school and did a demo, and i didnt even know it was him!
and of course i revisited pascenkos older sb. had my mind blown.
im gonna be picking the pieces of the floor for a few days
and of course after seen his stuff i wanna do something more similar to him, but then i just forget about structure and only care about lines. and then everything turns to shit. oh boy. one day!

black-swan - thanks man. the longer ones we do is 20 minutes... im not sure if thats long enough, its definetly nothing compared to the crazy 50 hours poses miles has been doing.
indeed i should practise putting figure in space a little more, i never do that.
and no, i did it perspective practise like, once, about 6 years ago... when i was 12... so it doesnt really count.
ill see if i manage some excersises, thanks a lot for the advice.

Hey Pedro! Just returning your comment on my sketchbook
Great updates! maybe you should try and focus more on painting rather then drawings. Your linework is solid, while your painting skills can still be developed greatly
Go for it dude! And keep at it!

AriyaLothiriell - woo thanks for that! yeah, anatomy ones are the ones i have the most fun with

Calvin: "People always make the mistake of thinking art is created for them. But really, art is a private language for sophisticates to congratulate themselves on their superiority to the rest of the world. As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance."

its incredible how fitting that is for what i am experiencing in art school.

IsaacEs - how did you solved it man? i hope that it isnt by simply stop drawing

    weee, so,
some stuff. a little bit more finished this time.
i hate her torso, but the hair was really fun to do!
and the dude was quite complicated, since it was 1/3 imagination 1/3 reference 1/3 selfportrait(hence the huge eyebrows, lol)
but none matched the light situation.

and im still so lost in color,
i look back, i did quite some color studies, but they were all brainless, i was just copying, not thinking.
i have no clue how to proceed to learn color...
i wish color was more straight forward like anatomy

Your pencil works are really wonderful. They have a sense of rhythm to them that I'm liking a lot. You tend to draw your arms and hands a little short and small though, so look out for that.

I'm giving you 5 stars, because I think you'll get there if you keep at it. Work hard, and have fun.

Vritra - dead on crit, thats a lot. ill watch out for it. and thanks a ton for the 5 stars, ill try to stand up for the responsibility of it.

    auhdsiaudhkahi,
here, look at my very very straight forward process for a very very cliche piece.

D: ive not been feeling the best towards my art lately, well, mostly towards my skill.
its like, ive been figuring out basic stuff, that i should have learned ages ago, only now, and even so, my brain doesnt have enough power to handle a simple question of perspective+gesture+anatomy
    FUUUUUUUUUUU
and then i get stressed out, and dont study properly, which gets me thinking that i am a pussy and im avoid the hard task, which just makes me feel worst, and draw less.
    its a fucking spiral!
but if i try not to care, and keep drawing, it will happen the same thing that happend before, i will draw, but wont think about what i am drawing, therefor not getting knew knowledge or improving.

Hey man, it's prity interesting looking through your sketchbook because you started yours a similar time to mine. I think your improvements have been much greater, especially in your linework and pencil stuff which is, in my opinion your strongest asset at the mo. Those figure drawings...0___0
Stay strong dude and i look forward to seeing more.
