Drawing, Painting, and Digital Painting, foundations ?

There are many traditional and digital painting methods but here I am asking what I am interested in and it does not mean that I am narrow minded .

I have been learning since last few months and what I understood is Painting skill cannot develop on its own unless you know how to draw correctly. And unless you don't know how to draw correctly you can't make a good painting. Both of these skills are mandatory to Painting Digitally. And unless you can draw and paint with correct use of foundations of form, composition, line weights etc you can't make a concept art.

So the path to concept art is Drawing correctly (Perspective, proportions, Composition etc) ---> Painting correctly (Value, form, color theory etc) ---> Concept Art ( Altering established foundations).

Now where I am correct in my knowledge and where wrong ?. This is the question.

The art elements (line, shape, value, form, color texture, space) transcend media. They apply to drawings just as much as paintings or sculptures. But, of course, they are applied in different capacities. One can master everything with a pencil and paper except for color.

To be a concept artist you have to be creative as well as talented. A lot of being an artist is creative problem solving and generating ideas. It's not all just being able to paint well.
