Yeah, so far the villains are Ral al Guhl(sp?) and The Scrarecrow. From what I've read the story is like Frank Miller's Year One comics: Bruce Wayne traveling all over the world to perfect his crime fighting abilities and returning home to police Gotham.

Ral al Guhl is played by Kent Wantabe. He was in "The Last Samurai" and a few other films. The Scarecrow is played by the main guy from "28 Days." I can't recall his name though.

Also, it sounds like the director is pretty much ignoring the previous Batman films. Getting more into the how any why Batman is they way he is and forgoing the neon gothic sets and campy villains. So that means no Bat-nipples. Thank god!

    from Ain't it Cool News:
The Tumbler, built as a bridging vehicle for the military, then never used. Goyer describes it the first time we see it as "a cross between a Lamborghini Countach and a Humvee. Sandy camouflage, stealthangled panelling and variable-angle flaps across the back." It can do a rampless jump at 100 mph. It was built by the Applied Research branch of Wayne Corp., which is how Bruce Wayne stumbles across it. He modifies it a bit, and the result is the thing that's already being so hotly debated by fans. It's a real-world vehicle, practical rather than "cool"
you can find a lot of info on BATMAN BEGINS here:

I like everything about it so far except Katie Holmes and the Batmobile.....

Hmmm... looks a little too ATV for me.

It might work for "Batman in Dixie" or some other sort of southern fried, dark knight film.

It makes me so sad to see this type of design for a classic comic book hero.

I know the SUV demographic is exploding but come on. Why don't they just put the hummer logo on it now. I'm sorry but when I think of Batman I think of sleek, stealth, insane speed and handling. I think they should have armored up a McLaren F1. Now that is a bruce w. young spoiled guy car.

Honestly, the franchise is shooting a dead horse here, there is nothing that can ever be done to wash away the last film.

Oh and for those of you who have not seen the catwoman trailer, just think of how bad things actually can get.

A little too boxy for me. Looks like indy car + Stealth jet + Tractor. I really prefer the smooth look.

i second that and i like it, much better than the discomobile from the last movie anyway.but of course there are still much chances to screw this movie up like the last 2.

I like it. and I think its a sign of good things to come for the movie. This batman seems like a total backlash against teh frivolity of the Schumacher movies. This thing looks practical and somewhat believable for someone who is trying to single-handedly take on all the thugs in a major metropolitan area. If the rest of the movie reflects this same design sense, then batman will probably appear more like a swat/covert-ops agent than a wierdo in spandex. Which is cool by me...

...but they really should have done the next batman all CG. Thats the only way to do it right, heh heh.
