Oh my dear, those brushstrokes! I'm impressed how you work with the directions. Makes very interesting studies. I like the Tarly one is post #663. Compared to the posts on the page before, I'm just surprised how you can change your complete style in the studies. That's so great! I totally suck at using brushes that confident. So, keep it up! I wanna see more!
Fantastic work, thank you for sharing!
You have a similar expression as Jama btw![]()
Valyvande: Thankyou. Really the changing style is matter of exploration. At the moment I'm way too obsessed with texture and rake brushes that I'm going overboard with it.
Siilon: My pleasure.
Thanks! Jama is one wicked artist, and to be compared to him is serious compliment.
Ok last ones from today.
Photo ref study and some random thumbnails.
My brain is out of ideas...
Maaaaan such brush strokes ! Impressive sketchbook !![]()
You pulled off quite an interesting brushwork in this last page.., i'm loving the texture, nice updates man
Your artwork has something that mine really needs - charm. You're an inspiration.
Crow calls raven black.
Lions and thumbs:
Your brushstrokes are getting pretty damn mind-blowing lately. :'D
Jesibelle: Good. Glad to hear that.
Alieny thing and sort of photo ref study...or rather environment sketch using few refs. I really need to paint/study more forest anvironments.
All those branches are scrambling my brain.
Photo ref study. Prep for painting I'm planning.

Your brushstrokes are so vivid! i love them.
You should try to do studies of William Adolphe Bouguereau.
give me your feedback about my work:

I like how you define the forms with the rake brush, kind of reminds me of the look of some old etchings like Gustave Dore's. I also really like the thumbnails on this page!
Peixota: Thanks! And yeah, Bouguereau is a classic. Hes not exactly my favourite artist but I do think there's worth in studying atleast some aspects of hes works.
Smuli: Yeh, that really is the good side of rake brushes. Those lines left by the "bristles", even when extremely subtle, really register and further defines the shape. You can also create sort of fibery texture with them which is nice.
Some sketches very much inspired by the work of Terryl Whitlatch. I absolutely love her animal drawings and study sheets.
Coatis and Hyaenodon.
Your getting some nice value relationships going on - also some real nice edges too.
FUSHANDCHUPS: Thanks.
More animal sketches.

Holy shit. My mind is blown. Like X people said before me , that brushstroke maaaaynnn.
Flaskpost: thanks! I really like these Sorollas head studies. They feel sort of ugly and beatiful at the same time.
Really nice use of complementary colors too.
UniversalDDBB: Thanks. I'll try not to.
