Hi,
name's Patrick Gordon, 19, UK
made a thread a long time ago, and it sucked, so I'm back, and i'm making a new (and hopefully more often updated) one!![]()
starting off with some of my more recent works!![]()
Lovely stuff. Lots of character in these. Lets see moar!
thanks!
WIP![]()
meow... made my own design now catwoman
![]()
original character pchat sketch taken a little further, quite different from my usual style, but I really like it.![]()
been battling it out with an artblock today![]()
Your stuff is boss! I like everything youve got up so far man, and your avatar rocks I love sprites![]()
You should try doing medical tattoos on one of your characters, from what I see here youd probably make something hella' sexiness.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the face on the one with big eyebrows, the style kinda klashes with the body.
Great work, you've got me subscribed![]()
thanks! i was gonna make a full set of platform game-like animations for my avvie, but it kinda got put on the back backburner lol
mediacal tats? like that that double helix snake on a winged pole logo?
and yeah, i wasn't too sure about the face either, but I couldn't think of anything, so I just left it the way it was
and thanks for subscribing!
hot off the press!
I'm diggin' your katanas, especially since I cant draw em for shit![]()
About the Med tats, yeah thats kinda what I meant but this is what I thought you would be into:
Cool work! Looks like you're nice and comfortable drawing the face, but your bodies look kinda stiff at the moment. Take some time to break into gesture drawing and figure drawing to ease that stiffness and then you'll see some big improvements. No crits other than that, looks like you've got the talent, you just need to hone it!
Keep it up, i'll be back for more~

@Medusoid I could do with some more studies on katanas, no idea how they're built
ohh those tats look pretty neat, I like!
@AustenFM thanks for the crit, I've been looking into the ususal Loomis and Brigman, and I occasionally use Posemaniacs, I guess I just gotta keep at it!![]()
got a little lost in thought today![]()
Excellent stuff, and I feel for you on the art block deal.

Few questions, but first kick ass doodle man!
Now, what file type is it that you can remove the BG because every time I try it just adds white. And second, you mind if I borrow that little guy? hes just so awesome, I'll give you props of course but if you'd prefer to just keep him as your own thats completely understandable![]()
@FightingSeraph thanks!
@Medusoid thanks! and the file type you're looking for is .png, though some programs seem to be incapable of adding transparency, if you use photoshop, try using the save for web option
sure, as long as it's a one-off non-commercial piece or something, that's fine! otherwise I would would prefer to keep himyou mind if I borrow that little guy? hes just so awesome, I'll give you props of course but if you'd prefer to just keep him as your own thats completely understandable![]()
trying to draw more dynamic poses, this could take a while![]()

good work, but you definitely should do more studies!
there's a few things i keep noticing:
your faces go out of perspective quite often, especially around the eyes and mouth. you might not be quite sure where to place them, and try to fudge it a bit. andrew loomis' books on face construction can help you out there!
you should also do a round of hand studies, I don't think you're very comfortable with them. hands are actually really fun to do as gestures, just do a curve for the wrist, a curve over the knuckles, add a hook for the thumb and 4 lines for the fingers and you're done. it's one of those things that goes "click" after a while and you'll have it
and yes to gesture figure drawings! do lots of them, and keep them simple. do 15-20 of them per sheet of paper in 30 mins and you're doing it right
Ha no man I would never take your ideas and sell em. But I guess you have to be careful about that sort of thing these days![]()
But yeah just think of it as pre-fame fan art lol![]()
@NeonDuck: thanks for the crit, duly noted, and I'm on it!
@Medusoid "pre-fame" lol, I can dream
A tribute to one of the masters![]()
Really nice stuff! I look forward to seeing more.
I like your circle head character a lot. and the details on the last face you posted are nice and crisp. It looks like you have a good understanding of anatomy and how dynamic poses work.
Keep up the good work, I'll be watching!
thanks!
hot off the press!
update!
Athena! goddess of war!
update!
gah, haven't been doing much studies lately!
I must fix this!
