    Icon Love what you do.

I've been at my art work for about a year and half. Shortly after my father died -- whom I loved greatly -- I decided that I ought to do in life what most inspires me.

A new thing to get me going in the morning is to immediately do a 5-min self portrait in the mirror, I will try to post this daily -- here is today's:

Another morning self-portrait. I found it's much harder to make yourself look down in the composition and then glance up and draw.
And a quick attempt to sketch my wife -- she'd probably fillet me alive if she knew I posted this.

Your drawings are great. I like the line work and the shadding. I see some anatomical flaus, the eyes are bigger them they should be, but maybe it is the way you like to do. I like your work. Keep posting.
My Blog or My Sketchbook would benefit from your comments.
    Thanks for visiting!

Thanks and I definitely do need to watch my proportions -- thank you for pointing this out.

Here's some practice for tomorrow's plein air get together -- I've never done this before and I'm a little nervous.

The first is a sketch from my backyard and the last is a quick digital sketch (~45min) from reference.

From today's Plein Air session. This was fun. I have never painted outside before, I think I will continue to do this.

The beautiful female in the second row looks really good, but I think maybe the values done with marker on top may have been done hesitantly? The depression behind the cheekbone seems to be quite defined, but the eye socket seems to lack value... idk, maybe I'm just too new. Anyways, very inspirational. I hope you keep posting!

You are quite right on the values in that drawing. Ever seeking to improve -- I thank you.
