Graduation is really tough (I'm dreading mine! Well, the road up to it.)
I think for expressions movie stills can be really good. Also gives you the
opportunity to see how 'bits' move.
Don't work yourself too hard!
Best,
Ana

Sketch in progress of a Starcraft 2 Zealot, I'm going to make a vector character out of it and make a brochure for the Aiur Chef game. I have to make a lame brochure for my portfolio, so I'm attempting to have fun with it. Iiii kinda drew him a little too far to the left so now I'll need to make his arms separately. Once I start vectoring I'll most likely make his hat way bigger and more exaggerated. I used concept art of the zealot as a reference.

Im likin it! y u no post moar!?
Soooooooo, here I am again! Got really focused on work/school again for quite a long run. Still working all day and homeworking all night, with graduation looming far too slowly :] So here's a sketch wave of what I've managed to squeeze in for myself.
I'm really trying to get better at loosening up when I'm sketching. I have a bad habit of focusing far too much on the final image, what it should look like, or if I'll paint it in Photoshop, that I render things to death and don't even have fun with the sketch anymore. Then there ends up being no heart in the sketches. So I'm loosening up, having more fun with just sketching and not worrying about its final manifestation.
The goal is still to advance in character/environment/creature/whatnot design and be able to tell a story beyond just sketches.. but it seems I had forgotten to have fun while I'm learning instead of trying to push everything to happen immediately.
So you might see a bit of a transition..as they go up->down and oldest->newest, as I go from following references a little to strictly to instead using them as just a pose idea and being more free with the sketching process and allowing myself to be looser and have more "happy accidents" as wise men say
