And then God said, "Let us make man in our likeness and our image. Let us make him ridiculously hard to draw so that poor artists everywhere will have to spend 10,000+ hours failing repeatedly before they can begin to capture the form and likeness onto a two-dimensional surface." And there was man. And it was good. And artists everywhere lost their minds.
Messed up the jaw/nose. Abandoning this WIP, as the approach wasn't a good one.

Semi-reluctantly getting back into still-life. Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're a chore.

I'm sure I'll post some more here sometime. I'm going through Figure Drawing For All It's Worth and The Artist's Complete Guide to Drawing The Head. Once I get my studio under control I'll be able to set things up properly for anatomy study and start using charcoal, etc. Right now I mostly draw when I work nights, and it's a pain to set up the mirror, lighting, and everything else in the little office every night.
In the meantime, you'll probably be seeing more still-life and cartoon drawings here, so if that's not your cup of tea, maybe you should check out some other places and stop by in another couple of weeks, haha.
EDIT: I might do muscle studies, gestures, etc, but it's the self portraits and life drawings that might come later.
