9 panel page, in pen, brush and ink. The layout was done digitally. I wanted to challenged my self and tell a story with my sketches.

I like the second one really The doodles are good think you get the pose and the shape. Try to do and nudes too to get better in anatomy and shapes. AND In the third one I'm little confused about what is important to watch and what is not. I all looks the same shading and not well distinct from each other

Congrats from me and keep going!

    Beast

I found a description of this beast in an old Chinese Bestiary. The beast is called a Fei-Lian. I created it in painter. I based the body on a deer, and the head of a bird. The tail I just made up, I wanted its spine to show, but I don't think it is convincing. I like the beast and I might improve it and use it later.

This is my first try out in painter.

    Botanical Pencil Study

This was done partly from observations on location and from a reference photo I took. I used H-6B pencils. I am fascinated with organic shapes, and I wonder if I could use this later for a fairy painting as background.

Yes but I have used Paint Shop Pro and Sumo Paint a lot, so I know a little about painting digitally. I would like to learn more about Painter and Z-brush!

Nice variety of media. The first loose sketch you posted is a good way of learning how light and form work, so keep that in mind. Loose work is where we learn the most.

    Keep posting!

I love the chicken flower! I didn't notice right away until I read your notes- How creative to do that and pull it off.

I also enjoyed to point of view from which you drew the botanical pencil study, it really makes the viewer feel as though they are in amongst the plants.
It took me like three hours to finish the shading on your upper lip. It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.

My sketchbook (it'll get good near the end)

    Fantasy Landscape

This is my first attempt to paint a digital landscape.
I started out roughly and I tried to be a bit abstract. I removed the dino/dragon and decide on a wolf instead, but I might change that again later.
I did the painting in Painter and Paint Shop Pro X. Now that I was experimenting, I decided to try some of the filters in Paint Shop Pro X. I grey scaled the painting to see if I liked the values. I used the illumination filter to see what they could do, and I also tried the perspective tool to see if I could get a stronger image by changing it. I went a bit over the top with the sun-bust filter, but now I know what they can do, and I can keep that in mined.

As I am new to this, I would love to hear what you think and if you have any ting to add to my experiment!

    Playing The Guitar

This is a study of my son playing his guitar. I asked him to play and move naturally so that I could try to catch his movements into my drawing.

Hi there! looks like you have fun doing what you do

I'd like to see some looser perspective work to get some more depth in those lovely pencil scenes.

Your approach to line in those first life drawings has something nice going on too, the gestured pattern makes me think Matisse.
