nice watercolor portraits.
@Yefim: Thanks man!
@LisaAnnGreen: Hey Thank you, I spent a lot of time with Watercolor over the past year or so. It's really a fun medium.
@Thomas M.: Thomas your work rocks man, thanks for stopping by!
@Zaphk: Thanks for checking out my bookKeep working hard!
@Lagarto: The book was great, thanks for the nice comments
@wutangclam: Thanks for the nice comment! I'm glad that my pathetic digital work is beautiful to someone haha
@DragonL: Thanks man!
I've been working on figure studies a little bit the past couple days, here's a couple figure studies and a fun photo study.
Digital stuff is looking a lot better! Love the figure studies. I'm getting a good sense of the forms. I bet you could improve clarity by having more define edges. Try a higher opacity brush with a hard edge!
Here's my sketchbook!
Hey jNeumann thanks for your comment in my sketchbook. I think your progress is great and you must be really pleased. The watercolours look fab and the the figure drawings look very solid with good proportions. Like others I actually think your digital painting is good as well and that you just need to soften some edges on these recent figures. In an effort to help have you heard of this website http://www.ctrlpaint.com/. It's all about digital painting.![]()
@Blizzard5291: Thanks for the advice man, I had been using a Brush with Opacity set to Pen Pressure and I have kind of a light hand, so it probably never went above a certain percent. Tried adjusting opacity manually in this next one with better results
@Marian Rowling: Hey thanks for all the compliments man, much appreciated. I saw that site before when it was free, and just recently looked at the videos they're offering now. Have you watched any of the full versions? Any word on if it's worth the $10 each.
I did this next one with a brush set to manual opacity, after Blizzard5291's suggestion. I'm learning more from each one of these that I do!
Does anyone know how to add a NSFW tag to the thread? I don't want to piss anyone off.
No I haven't watched any of the full videos, but I have seen them recommended by quite a few people here, and I do think when I get some spare dollars I will probably get them..
You can edit the title to include the NSFW warning.

@Artimatum: Thanks I figured it out!

Dem legs. That light mark delineating the calf on the upper leg is my favorite.

Strong watercolors back in post #83, and that figure study is terrific...
Keep it up!
Really digging your figure studies man! Keep it up, I'm sure you'll kickass in no time!
Great to see you back and posting again
I can see very good improvements in the latest stuff, I'm especially a huge fan of your watercolours. All of your traditional stuff is quite strong actually. I think your digitals will catch up soon though once you get used to it a bit more and start using it like you use your traditional paints (such as the wonderful use of edges in the watercolours that is absent in the digitals).
Anyways, keep it up and I look forward to seeing where you will go in the future!

Just got back from a family vacation, wasn't able to squeeze a whole lot out but heres some stuff I did today.
Hey man, good work, that last figure study is really strong. Keep on pushing them out man.![]()

Keep an eye on proportions in that figure study. Those legs and torso seem small. One thing that might help in some studies is to look at the negative space, such as the shape outlined by the raised hand and the shoulder, and the shape outlined by the line of the torso and the shirt. Look where the supporting hand is in relation to where the legs meet the floor.
Here's my sketchbook!
@Blizzard5291: Thanks for the crit man, I'll watch out for that in the future
@Psychobuddy: Thanks!
Been really busy with family vacations and getting ready for a new school, but here's some stuff.

Hi there! Cool pencil style, I'm not so strong in traditional but I like your sketches. Keep studies, dont shame to use more wide shade and reflex palette.

Did you do that last self-portrait from life ( from a mirror ?) ? Its good! Also the black man and the woman w/legs crossed.. show lots of good decision-making.
MOstly what I see is just more drawing time - really understanding the shapes..

@Tef: Thank you! I appreciate it
@bish0p2004: Hey thanks for the kind words, I'll keep churning em out, stay tuned!
@kevinwueste: Kevin, thanks a lot for the tips. The Self Portraits are all from life and the woman with legs crossed is as well. It's funny you stopped by, I actually had dinner with you after the Liberace demo in Sarasota in June. Was great to meet you.
@pgf95: Thanks! I will do that
@ilovesketchbook: Thanks!
It's been slow but here's an attempt at a color self portrait. Getting a smooth appearance is still a challenge for me, coming from a background when brush stroke work looked nice and digitally it's just kind of like a sore thumb. Regardless, here's a piece
