    Ultarant's Paintings

    Greetings all,

I've been inspired by the artwork of others to journey into the realm of digital art with coloured versions of some of my line art. Here is a collection of fantasy art I have created. Criticism is always welcome!

One more. This one was a challenge since it was the first time I did a face entirely in Photoshop. I'd love some feedback on it.

This looks like a good start. I read your sketchbook page, and I have the same problem. I cannot draw on my computer and I don't think I ever will. I have to import my pencil drawings and use them to paint. Maybe eventually the technology of the tablets will improve enough to make it better to sketch and draw.

Keep practicing and keep trying new brushes. Some brushes that I've downloaded have made me a much more effective digital painter. Also blender brushes are important.

Thank you! I have learned that the higher the resolution, the better the results as it allows for more control and smaller details (vector art is also less obvious).

I have been meaning to experiment with new brushes in Photoshop, as I have noticed that they can make a dramatic difference in colouring.

I think I will always be most comfortable with traditional line art though.

It is very humbling to be among some of the most talented artists of my generation, but press on I must!

Here is a piece that took about two weeks to complete: Apollonian and Dionysian (sorry the image quality is a bit low, it was the only way I could fit it on the forums):

some improvement is already obvious in these few posts. keep hanging around and learning things and applying them to your work.
