The 6 month challenge of a 19.48 year old.

Edit: Going to work my a@# off and we'll see how much I progress in six months.

    A little about myself,

I am 19 years old and studying Graphic Design at Oregon State University.

I jumped on this whole art thing a little late and trying to catch up, here are some photo studies I have made recently, and I have so much to learn!

Heya, glad to be the first to comment Congrats on taking the first steps towards becoming an artist. Dont worry about starting late, 19 is plenty young. What do you mean by photo studies? I like the look of these and am especially impressed if you hand painted them. Interesting compositions. Keep posting!

Haven't updated in a while because I've been working on developing my typographic treatments, as well as learning new skill sets in Photoshop and Illustrator.

I am going to update at least once a week from now on.

I've done about 30 pages of head studies so this is just a sample, also an fire breathing unicorn from my imagination.

Still so much to learn, do people recommend learning to draw the figure first?

    Blackops51 - Thanks man!

Naidy - Thanks! I tend to have a heavy hand and am influenced by clean vector drawings... So yes I like things clean .

bpic- The thought of actually painting in oils or acrylics is terrifying haha, I just referenced photos for these pieces I struggle when it comes to drawing things from the imagination. Thanks for dropping by.

Hello again! Good god, I love your traditional stuff too, very very very neat linework. I'm actually quite surprised, in a good way, that is.
So I'm going to stop abusing commers and say it's all good so far, your style seems to be very smooth and rounded- it's really nice to see.

Also- MERRY CHRISTMASS AND OR ANY OTHER SEASONAL HOLIDAY YOU MAY CHOOSE TO FOLLOW, or if you're athiest like myself, enjoy that extra day of lazyness and good food.

Nice line work! Human anatomy is really good, but you might want to check up on horse anatomy, the legs and neck look a bit off.

Anyway, I've gotta agree with the other people here and say that you do have nice clean lines. I'd like to see more stuff of yours posted though. Keep posting dawg

Before my week gets crazy agin, here is some of my GD homework, from the imagination. For the heart I'm trying to practice blending and rendering form via the imagination. Also a self portrait from life that's in the works.

ryanoir- I appreciate it man, your sketchbook is pretty cool.

Naidy- Hey, it's a little belated - but thanks!

_Devilry_- Appreciate the crit, I need to learn anatomy in general, I only have a rudimentary grasp of it :/

Forrest_I- Oh cool, OSU is a pretty big campus so there a lot of people i don't know :/ I've probably seen him around though.

snatti- Thanks, I do need to get some more finished work up. i also need to start working in value... Thanks for dropping by!
