    Valentina's Porfolio (be harsh)

I'm thinking of redesigning my homepage. This process calls for a spring cleaning, and I need outside help to decide what belongs and what doesn't belong in there. You guys have a reputation to be harsh

    Here we go

    Thanks.

I finally got around to updating my own portfolio.
I'd appreciate more (and honest) critique.

Haha awesome very psychodelic. I guess you were inspired by one of Carroll's books? .

BTW if you need any help with web-coding or stuff like that just ask

    Thanks ..
Don't want to sound like a fool, but I'm not familiar with Carroll (should I be?), so I can't really say I'm inspired by his/her books. If those are good reads (for inspiration AND entertainment), which titles would you suggest?

The most famous one is definitely "Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland" and I can highly recommend to read it . I think it's inspiring as well, at least for a game designer it is, as Carroll plays some odd tricks with meaning in this book.

! Now I'm embarrased. I knew that name had a familiar tune to it. Always wanted to read the Alice books. I'll definitly get to it.

No need to be embarrassed, one can't know everything that's why people ask questions . Regarding to your style and art I think you will like the book

Know this thread is kind of old but... I think that something you could improve is giving your surfaces different textures, a lot of the objects have a sort of smooth indistinct texture and soft lighting making them seem sort of flat. Some of the images lose their sense of perspective because all the objects are about the same height (even as the get closer to the horizon). I think your style works best in the images with the motorbike, dragon and kitten, where the large colored shapes make a nice design on their own. Also like the alien/monster designs.
