    Oh hey there-

I am not new to your art, and I've got to say I've always enjoyed how refreshing you are as far as subject matter.

The only advice I have to give (and I am guilty of this as well) is that you should focus more on your own original characters and concepts rather than focusing on fanart.

These new sketches are very exciting, I adore how you simplified the figure for the action poses. Nice creature as well, the light hatchwork is lovely~

And I LOVE your fan-art, I hope you didn't get the wrong idea! original concepts are indeed best for self-improvement and concept/portfolio building tho~ c:

nice stuff so far, your anatomy studies are very dynamic. The only thing I've noticed are the bones of the standing skeleton. The bones of the arms and legs are too straight, they should by slightly curved, thus the curving of the legs. If you keep that in mind your studies will look even more lively, so keep it up!

I know what you mean about the mood swings, man. Schoolwork has me up one wall and down another ;3; I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with me irl.

But those characters are looking good! I really like the dog. Like, so much. xD

    Help!

Hey guys, I'm going to be doing some environmental speed paints to focus on composition and color and was wondering if any of you have links to:

    - good color theory
    - picking the right colors
    - painter tutorials
    - photoshop tutorials.

    Thanks!

And be sure to look here in the following weeks for some attempts.

The animation isn't the bad part, it's all those classes I neglect because I spend so much time on each animation project, haha. Ugh I feel like I forgot how to draw for myself sometimes.

Good looking enviro painting! Can't say much since I'm pretty much a noob to that realm as well. LET'S DO OUR BEST TOGETHER.

hey, great SB! But what you asked me about...hmmm what really helped me, REALLY helped me, was a lot of blind contour stuff, "feeling" myself in the mirror or model photos (not that that sounds perverted haha) with the tip of the pencil, like on the surfaces of the muscle and bone, you know?

Hope that helps! If you need me to clarify just ask

    beautiful sketches~
i hope it's nothing you're already heard of before but some good links to color theory tutorials are Prometheus's tutorial and Ron Lemen's talk about color.
your enviro study looks really nice! What i hear works is that you spend some time after a photo study making your own environment to reinforce whatever you've learned from the copy. 8D

    Hey man!

First of, love your Oolong drawing. Prob'ly my fav around here. Also digging the koopas fighting over a steak.

About your question of good photosohp tutorials, check out Sparths gnomon DVD. It is totally worth it, and will really show you the benefits of using cutom brushes for speeding up your process.

Anyways, awesome stuff. Keep on working hard! : )

Lovely stuff, some creative ideas. Keep practicing mate, and I've added some suggestion to your wip. And also some stars for you. Wish you luck, but draw and paint more.

    hey dude
really good drawing you have! i like your gestyre drawing
nothing i can critique on that as far as I can see,
it seems your drawing is much better than your colour/painting so if i can give any advice it would be to concentrate hard on improving your colour/painting skills. as for how, I can't say xD but that seems to be the main area that is holding you back imho.

The bear looks nice. But its nose looks kinda off, I think it's rotated too much to the left (its right) compared with its eyes and forehead. But as a painting practice, you did great!

As for the megaman piece, i'll go with the last cutman. But that comes from a guy who only play a few of megaman series (not hardcore). At those stage though, I wouldn't jump to decision, maybe work a bit more on all of them first.

Thanks for visiting my sketchbook. You have heard right about the limited pallet thing. It is one of the easiest and best ways that you can quickly improve your color. It gives you the advantage of having immediately harmonized hues as well as a more focused understanding of what each pigment is doing. That being said I don't really know of a great way to lock down your palette when you are painting digitally besides drooping in the colors that you want to use firs,t then eye-dropping for the rest of your painting.

In all of your digital studies you are doing a brilliant job of eschewing black and really examining the temperature you are trying to replicate. Just keep on doing what you are doing and you will continue to see growth.
    For Science- Sketchbook!

Hey, thanks for commenting in my sketchbook, I thought I should return the favor

You've got some really nice stuff in here, both from observation and imagination. You were wondering a good way to apply your color studies to yur other drawings and I too have been wonderin this. However, I've realized that in a lot of my life studies and color studies there are big differences then in my drawings from imagination. Things like reflection, shadow color according to light, amount of color used in certain areas, saturation, hue shifting. Try to see these different things in your life study and apply them to your stuff from imagination, you'll notice a nice positive change. Keep on postin dawg

I like the Oolong piece, how you drew the skeleton to sketch stuff and the gestures! I'm looking forward to see more of you skull to imagination drawings and the very strong gesture stuff! Keep on posting!
