Hello all,

My Name is Jon. I'm a writer working with Paperlab Studios and I'm writing today to invite an artist to lay down some coloring goodness on my latest endeavor, The C-List. I'll discuss the team thus far, the project, and your would be role in that order.

I've been writings here and there, but mainly for comics. I've been writing comics for a couple of years now and work on the soon to be published True Sheroes with my co-conspirator, Mervyn McKoy. Mervyn's the head of Paperlab and all of the depraved line art (originally from my depraved brain) you'll be getting will be from this guy. He's the official Supercon artist and I could write a thousand great things about him. However, he's summed it up with his artwork, http://paperlab.deviantart.com/. We have some interested publishers in our project and hope to work with a fast, funny (the C-List is a comedic book), and colorful story teller (yes, I'm corny).

So, what the hell is The C-List? It's a situational comedy series I've written involving superheroes. However, The C-list isn’t about super powers, saving the day or fighting the good fight. It’s a about people who happen to be super powered, and the awful places these ‘super’ abilities take them. This is a world populated with characters who would be as comfortable on an episode of Seinfeld as they would tearing a mountain in half. Enter the ‘sitcomic’ a hybrid of sitcom familiarity and accessibility, paired with the limitless visual and narrative direction of comic books. This is the C-List, a mix between the Tick and the Venture Bros. There won't be any long arcs here, just concise stand alone-stories (three issue story tops) mainly with some underlying subplots for ongoing readers.

As they battle threats ranging from cosmic to car note, it's going to take one more hero to help them save the day.

Mervyn is wrapping up inks on the first issue and we were hoping to find an interested colorist/artist, that would like to join us on our own twisted take on the genre. Mervyn's all geared up for the second issue, so we're hoping to lighten his load and keep him pencilling. His style for this book is sort of Kevin Maguire with some Frank Quitely. I can't afford to pay you yet, but I'll do what I can to make sure that any money made that you get paid before me. These things take up more of your time than mine on average so I'll also use my lack of art skills to help. You need flats, I'll chip in. I'm just trying to make an awesome comic with an awesome crew. It should be lots of fun and funny.
