Thanks for the response. I don't have black on my palette, so I'm assuming the photo is to blame. Here's a later photo of it

hey man - thanks for the words of encouragement. i totally get where your coming from with the muscles remark. and it shows in the digital - i mean its not a sharp as the graphite but the structure is still beautiful and am i right in saying that you didn't use any transform tools?
see i did like a year of art school then a year of games design and all through that i used traditional media - then i thought sod it im gunna need to learn PS soon so i put everything over the last year into learning that. so im a bit all over the place.

and i forgot to do this last time - *five star*

The good news is its not too late to go back and practice traditional media, and you definitely look like you are on the right track. And yeah, that portrait was about a half hour in photoshop using the basic brush and an eraser on a gray page.

thanks man i hope so too. ive got a drawing board and some watercolours gathering dust beside me. one day when i have the balls i'll give it a go

Good job tho for half an hour - i think sometimes with digital im sloppy with my initial drawing and end up warping it for ever later on. something you dont seem to have lol.

And rightly so Unlink, looks brilliant. Well done I imagine a lot of skill is required to paint portraits in watercolour.

You are too kind, Marian Rowling. Its just another media, just need to get along with gravity and not fear the bleed effects, they give it character =]

Well that last watercolor, and this traditional drawing kicks ass.

You asked for a critique on this digi
The eyes are a bit out of perspective on the skull... the far eye looks a bit too large and misplaced. Sometimes mirroring your canvas can help you catch stuff like that.

This is all moot if you were going for that look though.

    Tones are nice.

Hey man...thanks for commenting in my sb. AND because it allowed me to find yours.

You have some amazing, beautiful work here. As others have said you have such a subtle touch to all of your art no matter the medium.

Anyway...thanks again...and please keep posting your work here!

P-Sage: I appreciate the feedback for sure. As long as you don't have any issues with media usage then great

Jephyr X: coming from you thats quite a compliment. Currently I'm going to community college here in Florida called Polk State College. The schools not much but the drawing/painting program has a serious instructor. you can look up my teachers work at http://www.vilastonape.com
