ROUND #220 :: Classic Fantasy Pin up

DESCRIPTION


Classic Fantasy Pin Up


After the blood and gore of the last ChoW, it's time to design something pretty... With a twist of course! This week we will design a classic fantasy pin up! What kind of pictures would the dwarves hang on the walls of their caverns? What images decorate the Red Dragon Inn?

Choose one of these races and design a classic fantasy pinup!
- Elf
- Dwarf
- Goblin

The setting is high fantasy. We will allow variations on the races mentioned above, as long as they are part of the dungeons and dragons basic races to keep it high fantasy. No humans though!

- The style is classic pin up. Some inspiration Pinup1, Pinup2, Pinup3
- Make it sexy, not slutty! Nudity is allowed (though tasteful), but also keep in mind our server for the poll (Photobucket) has strict rules about nudity.
- The pin up can be male or female!

THE RULES
If you do not stick to these 6 simple rules, you will not be added to the poll.

1) FOLLOW THE TOPIC.
It's about designing the character of the topic. The environment or side characters are far less important.

2) SHOW AT LEAST ¾ OF YOUR DESIGN.
This is not an illustration contest, but a design contest. Show your whole design!

3) POST YOUR FINAL IN THE FINALS THREAD.

4) INCLUDE WIPS WITH YOUR FINAL.
Show your work in progress and post (links to) this in the finals thread!

5) SAVE YOUR FILES IN THE FOLLOWING FORMAT. Chow##_Nickname
example: "CHOW#100_Oblio.jpg"
No final.jpgs please!


6) PLACE THE IMAGE IN A FRAME WITH YOUR NAME/TOPIC


(you can add CA logo, etc).



About quality - as general rule: if your shapes and values are not decent - you are out. Watch proportions, perspective etc. we need perfectly readable shapes and coherent, consistent values.

~This post was only put up today, the finals thread will appear soon or closer to deadline.
~As for WIP (work in progress) People just want to see what you're working on so we can give feedback and make sure that you're on topic. Check other finals posts to see what the submissions need to look like.
~There is a skill level that is accepted for the finals thread, but don't worry too much about it, everyone is encourage to participate and enter. We'd love to see your work, and the point of this is practice anyways.

I cant wait to see what you produce, good luck.

Sure those allowed, as long as the races could qualify as "high fantasy" (dungeons and dragons or Tolkienish). And also, still no humans, to keep things more interesting

xLouisaX: Yep, most of the time I start in black & white to get the general value range right. But it's more of a loose guideline because I tend to get to colour fairly quickly. Hence this update :p
