Hey welcome to CA! really cool sketches keep posting!.
thanks. This place is kinda intimidating, but I definitely will keep it up.
This is a first rough sketch of a re-imagined version of Ursula from the Little Mermaid
This whole mess eventually turned into this

a WIP for a challenge at another forum. I'm compelled to finish it now, even if it looks like ass.
Hey Pablo thanks so much for visiting my sketchbook. I'm an animation fan so I've enjoyed looking at yours and I like your animation of the girl sneezing. You have a good imagination and I really like this one.![]()
thanks. Swing by the animation section, we are trying to revive it ;p
Here's a quick study. Never been good at painting, picking the right colors, or speed.. I rendered this in about 2 hours, 2:30 maybe. Instead of going the B&W value route first, I jumped straight to color. It's hard, and I probably picked a hard ref picture. But I did learn a few things from this. Hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

I managed to scan these yesterday. They are 11x17, so it's a pain in the ass to scan with a regular scanner. They are not very good now that I look at them, could've definitely worked a little bit more on them.
That and another color test, still trying to get the hang of it.
Just a few more quickies

Another dump
Still trying to get the hang of painting.
A quick Frazetta study

I love your studies, the poses are interesting/dynamic, I loved the sneeze animation as well. All of your ninja/warrior sketches are all so so cool
.
I wish I had something constructive to add, alas I'm a lowly narb, it's so great though. I will definitely be watching your sketchbook!

you have already a nice level! cool studies are you doing them from reference?love the head drawing keep posting and you'll improve a lot!
Nice stuff. Looks like we got a lot of shared interest (animation and comics). That Frazetta sketch is awesome - keep the madness going sir.
Cool comic references and awesome little animations, practice those feet in perspective tho, quite a few don't sit well in the world.
keep it up![]()
"Masks...You have...a lot. You, too...Will you be...a mask salesman?"

@Butterknife - thanks mate
@paranoiak - Yea I use reference for pretty much everything. I'm not at a comfortable level where I can do it all from my head yet :/
@artmessiah - I still got a long ways to reach your level, but thanks man I'll keep trying.
@^_^ - You are right, I've always had trouble making feet. I'll get on that within the next few days.
more junk. Totally messed up the girl's face in the first one.
The last one is a study for an animation in-progress. wonky anatomy.
i like the cartoony feel to it! keep practicing!! The manga likeness is that what your going towards or it's just a coincidence? I would take time to study face perhaps more, sometimes it feels disproportionate, but keep working hard![]()
Kind of? I was trying to go for an animated look (like Glen Keane's stuff, or "The Road to El Dorado" character designs) And a mix of 70s anime, where men actually do look like men. Still trying to get it down though.
The timing is a little off on this, and I need to take out a few things, but this is a test for a short animation I'm working on
Started this as a life study, ended being Disney's Hercules
I can't draw birds for shit :/
Still working that value method. I think I'm gonna use this one as practice for coloring.
There's something cool about drawing with pen. It kinda forces you to try to get it right the first time.
hey - thanks for dropping by my sketchbook and the kind words!
Great work here - you've made a lot of progress and not even onto your 2nd page yet! I'll be sure to drop you a message when I start up my Dynamic Energy Challenges again!
Great little animations too!
Rock on!![]()

No, they do look cartoony and i'm feelin what your going for, not a big fan 2d animation of dreamworks, rather much more of the recent animated movies but keep it up! Shapes are great!
@Artist7 - No problem, and thanks a lot for taking a look, glad to know there's some improvement
@Domaz - Thanks man. I'm not a big fan of Dreamworks in general, the only I like is Road to El Dorado, they had some great facial expressions. I saw Sinbad recently, and it was worst than I remembered.
Heya, thanks for popping by my sketchbook. You have nice sketchbook here. Good figure studies. Keep the studies coming, I see you are already making progress![]()
Sweet stuff so far, I really like the 60s gestures, cartoon/animated studies are nice too but keep doing those gestures.
