    Smile what doodles!!

Hey everyone.. me new here! I have uploaded some of the sketches which I have done last week. All of them are memory drawings.. i have tried to foreshortening in one of the sketches, though it didn't work well, I feel good that I atleast tried. It's tough doing foreshortening though.

Hey! The foreshortened view doesn't look bad, I think the head needs to be placed a little lower.. and the dancer looks great, its only her hands that are kinda off I guess.. I've got some e-books I can give you, those would help! Need to work more on drawing hands and figure drawing.. Hands are really hard for me too Keep sketching!

Nice start there bro! Your fingers need some work, but the overall forms are good. Are you studying art?
Don't bother looking at my sketchbook. I haven't updated that thing in years. :/

    Question Page 2

Hey everyone.. bought myself a new sketchbook .. so i pulled off some anatomy books from the shelf and started sketching poses drawn in it.. i have also done some experimental memory sketching of poses and also a close up of how legs will appear when body sits and stands that way.. since i'm very poor in drawing legs and hands i thought i'll just give it a try..

I really don't know how to just go wild and let yourself free and draw doodles like i've seen in people who do great deal of sketching.. so apologies if they are looking a little neat..

Looking forward to your valuable opinions.. have a great day ahead..

Halloz again! Hehe.. first time I'm hearing anyone apologizing for their
sketches being too neat your line quality's lovely, yea neat like you've put it
And its 'slay thy hand?' xD one year of no MAD and you're slipping into the murky depths
    of RLV ingleesh!

The tip-toeing foot on the bottom right looks good.. And a tip in drawing action poses,
to make them look more dynamic, you see the shoulder and hip line right? In the figure that's jumping with the sword, they're parallel to each other.. Tilting them in the
opposite direction will give you a more dynamic feel.. Twisting torsos too does that.. Check out Vilppu's anatomy drawing book.. Awesome gestural drawings..

@Milad: We're from ze same college

    Smile Happily sketching ever after..

Thanks to all of you for giving your valuable suggestions.

Yesterday was the election day in my college.. and since there was no class and I had absolutely nothing else to do but vote, I thought i'll take on my sketchbook and start sketching various poses around me..

First I moved away from the maddening crowd to spend some time sketching my various poses of my hand.

Then i went to the busiest part of the college and started doodling.. people there soo busy (probably tensed about who will win) that they couldn't stand properly for one second.. and so I had to draw real fast without giving so many details..

As hours passed, people began to get very tired, some of them left and few of them stayed to know the result. Here I got more time to understand the postures and draw accordingly so i slowed down my sketchy hand..

If I made a self assessment of myself, well.. don't know how it turned out, but I'm wildly happy because in my four years since my entry into art field this is the first time I'm ever doing outdoor life sketching..
I know, sounds very weird.. and i guess that's the best part of being an artist.

    Looking forward to your replies..
    Haappy sketching..

Yeaha!! Go vipin! so happy i've lighted a fire under one more person's butt.. out looking for my next victim!

no critiques on the hands, i think they look great.. see, all you needed was to dust off those sketching skills you had all along

Out of all the seated poses, liked the figure in the middle page, on the top right corner.. i've gotta start blocking out the figure in shapes next..

Smile Trying some memory drawing :madchef:

Thought i'll just try out some poses from my imagination.. first i tried out the normal poses like leaning towards the table.. normal stuff you see out there..
next i tried out action poses, mainly dancing postures and stuff.. hope it worked..

Looking forward to your valuable suggestions..

Next i gotta try out knocking down blocks and introducing skin and study of legs.. which is going to pretty hard i feel..

Oops.. Forgot to bring the tutorials again.. Sketches looking great! The clean line drawing's something I can't seem to get.. And the star rating system's a cool idea.. only thing is, if we're all rating our own sketchbooks, we'd always give it low stars :/ Not much to say except moar uploads!!

Good start! Already I see neat pencil works.
Keep an eye on the legs/hips area though. I saw some mistakes in the last post.
    Anyways, post more soon.

    You're improving!
I notice that you tend to draw the crotch area too short. There isn't enough allowance for the entire pelvis so that is something you will have to study. Don't guess and draw these things the way you think they are.
Your figures have great balance and you're showing more sensitivity to the subtle curves. Other people have suggested that you study from drawing books and I agree. In the beginning, people tend to get stuck on copying contours. That's nice but it will only take you so far. In order to create figures that have weight, you have to visualize the 3 dimensional form. Example:see the feet as wedges not triangles. Learn the planes of the body, the skeletal and muscular structures.

I can see you are starting to do some of those things so you're headed in the right direction.

I like your tubes, keep the drawings smaller when you scan them and work hard I'll
pop in again, keep it up.
