Your paintings are awesome. Makes me salivate!

I guess what I mean to ask is what method of figure drawing you studied.

I studied lots of Vilppu, Hampton and subscribe to the construction method of figure drawing.

But when I saw your figures I sorta started to think differently. Namely I tried to put construction in the back of my head and focused on the whole figure and contour drawing.

So I guess i was just curious.

    Great work as usual.

Immortal Cintiq - I do life drawing with mostly animators so I do more quick gestures than accurate constructions. But I do start off learning construction to see how things work first thats where loomis and hogarth and the books come in But loose curves are so much more fun!

    Lux_Aeterna - Thanks!

    Cameli - Thank you!

Some warm up studies I did and I decided to assign this week as dog week.

    Disturbing but cute.
hahhaha, now that's my favorite kind too! And the best kind definitely.

As for composition practices, I think the best way is just to do lots of movie studies. This is taught to me by Will Weston, an instructor at Art Center(and a fuckign badass instructor he was).
And just visit his website for details. He told us never to spend more than 60 secs on one study.
    http://www.willwestonstudio.com/wws/gallery/

There was a story he told us like, when he was teaching a comp class, he made all of his students do 400 movie comps a week, and those students are also taking another project class, and the other instructor was also making them do 400 movie comps a week. So when they came to him and complained about how tedious it is, he told them, "Well, you're gonna get good at composition really fast then." xD

Oh yeah, did I tell you I love your art? Anyway, I fucking LOVE'em!

    These ones especially.

I have too many excuses (weddings, moving, job change ) but back! Gonna pump it up and put more effort now. Been doing sketches mostly for the past month or so while finishing work before I leave the office

Picked out some to post here. Should be going back to studies and attempting finished pieces after!

And to end it have some cute running puppies
