love'n those water colors or washes of color in those figures. eek, that sargent study got a little out of proportion though (#443). Keep on going! gogogogo would appreciate a visit to my page if you've got the time. haven't heard any feedback from ya and I've been trying to implement the things you suggested and a lot of other people suggested.

Nice studies and characted designs! Just maybe when you are doing still life as in post #455 dont do background only with soft brush. If you do, your objects look floating and out of space . Anyway good job. Keep it up
My sketchbook - Please, help me grow Critique very appreciated

Nice environment thumbnails. The values are well captured, depth is in most cases well conveyed and overall the scenes look.. well, correct. I think especially the foggy lake works well, it captures everything necessary - it has excellent variation in types of detail and in shapes and it is also well simplified.
Some of the other thumbs could benefit from similar variety, and of course you can never simplify enough. But as I said, they are all very well done.

Thanks jakubvavrik ! I timed those at 7 mins and rushed through the bg! Should have worked it out ( impatient me ) Will improve on future studies!

antagonist turntable from prev assignment that didnt get completed cos I thought it screams cliche~ Last week's arm assignment and a painting I'm doing for a friend but I can't seem to get the face right in that angle. She has to have a sultry sexy look but now she just looks o_o. I have issues with the cat pose and placement too. Gotta do more research for this but will love some crits and suggestions!

The facial expression on that girl is really well done. Also, those perspective and anatomy drawings are really well-done. Applying perspective to my characters is still something I need to work on. That's something I really hope to get better at, and from what I can see, your attempts at the applications are pretty accurate.

wow you do so many studies! are you trying to do a certain amount per day? or are these just when you feel like it? i have seen a lot of artists on this site get really serious about doing daily studies, and they have all progressively become much much better artists for it. so i am thinking about starting some kind of daily work out regimen for studies... i was wondering if you have some kind of structured plan, or if you have just been doing them on a whim, when you feel like it. but anyways, they are looking very solid! especially those 4 panel studies of enviros. they look very simplified, but it doesnt really matter because they read very well. forms, lighting, values, color, mood, atmosphere. . . all captured in like 10 min haha. great work! very inspiring! (oh i almost forgot to say all of your imaginative work is incredible as well haha. ill just keep gushing ha. )

    thanks guys!

nickybeats - I draw for a fulltime job so I don't have a fix goal per day though I should. My studies are usually according to the theme assigned by my study group I believe with a structured plan like you mention improvement will be much quicker but with my job I really only have a short window to do studies and own work will have to work this out somehow! thank you for dropping by!

a rough character design i had to get out of my head before doing work inspired by a stunning alexander mcqueen dress!
