Alright, it has been *way* too long since I last updated my first sketchbook... I have learned so much at school that it's crazy! So I thought a new Sketchbook would be in order! Wish me luck!

This was done for my Image Making class at school. The assignment was called 'Mug Shot' though all he really wanted was a self portrait. I decided post mortem was good enough! All done on Adobe Photoshop CS4 with a little snapshot on my phone used as reference. The dimentions had to be 11X8.5 in.
Alright, this is a page from my anatomy sketchbook. There will be more to come as the semester goes on! (or at least whenever I'm not too lazy to scan them...)
In Image Making, at the very beginning of class, my teacher likes to give us a verbal description of a scene or character. He then gives us five minutes to jot down our reaction or interpretation to the scene. Here's the first five of them. (Sorry, I'm not a very good speed painter just yet!)
lol nice I like that "portrait" really cool stuff.
Check out my sketchbook and comment/crit while you're there =)

BAMeyer: Thanks a lot!
It's been a while, and I have a lot more to upload... I'm just lazy and overworked by school right now!
Nice version of Strength, although her right forearm looks super long. Your other stuff is good too, but that anatomy study of the skull is a stand out. Nice going so far!

donalfall: I see that now that you mention it... Though I'm not sure if it's her forearm, upper arm, or both that are too long. I'll have to pay more attention next time.
Here are some more five minute sketches.
Three fifteen minute color studies. We had photo reference.
Alright, the linework so far for a friend's tattoo. It's a backpiece so there's room for a bit more detail over the average piece. He's a sniper in the US Marine Corps and uses the M40A3 (the gun that the ladies are holding).
Alright, here's a bit more lazy work. A couple hours at most. All changes were at request, including the lopping off of the lower legs.
Here's a progress shot of a spread I'm doing for class. Go DUNE! It's going to have this text:
Muad'Dib guide us
Shai-Hulud protect us
We shal endure
Or something along those lines.
Also, i know the colors are wrong... I just liked them this way!
And here is where I think I might end up stopping on this tattoo... It's a long story, but the client decided that he suddenly wanted almost everything changed... After I had already been showing him progress shots for the last couple days and asking him what he liked and didn't like... -_-
nice work kepup
Alright, the finished Dune spread thing.
your self-portrait is sooo cool, i should make also a "dead-self-portrait" :3
The last painting you submitted is also great, i like the bright colors. i don't think they're wrong ^^

Goldenstripe: Hey, thanks a lot!
Just something that I have been working on when I have free time. It serves no purpose at all besides as filler sketching!
ALL your stuff is very light. it seems you only use midtones and lighter. except in your skull on brown paper which is beautiful. Use more darks and everything will really pop
J: Don't call my escorts hookers.
B: Mom's still got it!
J: I don't date whores!
L: This objectification of women has to stop!
M: It's just mom and whores...

NakedZergling: Yeah, I know what you mean... I've been fighting that problem for a long time. I'm getting better about it but I'm still not there yet!
This is one of my first true photo-manips ever. Sure, I've done photo restoration, but never any cutting and blending together. So far there are six photos in this, with more to come. Then I get to do the fun job of color correcting and polishing... And I don't like this! I'll post my sources when I'm finished with it.
