Wooo, dude, i will comment on your work, when i have a lot of time
But will first give you advice on edge control:
Use a combination of hard brush and soft brush, lasso tool, textured smudge tool(play with the tool adjustments here). For #55 i only used hard brush with pen pressure i think. not very effective. for clouds always ask yourself-> where is the light, shadow, cast shadow, transparency and think of them as 3d-objects. hope it helps. keep it up

Definitely want to second some of the advice Molina dropped on you. Your studies go pretty far in terms of pushing nuances, time to use that same mentality in your other work. Keep up all the hard work!

Molina, DStraX, PontusEuxinus and CKLamb thanks to all of you. I appreciate the suggestions and I'll try to work on these issues.

I haven't been painting/drawing for quite a while. I was in Berlin for my application interview and I've just been informed that I passed. Time to move to Berlin and study Game Design.
BUT I also realized that I suck at working from imagination - that's what you guys pointed out. Studies are cool, but it's just the technique, not what being a concept artist/illustrator is about. I have to apply what the studies teach me.

Did some studies today, the imaginative work isn't even worth posting. I'm angry, I'm motivated, I'm pumped.

Tackled the subject of environments and imaginative work today. I guess it helped a bit, still facing problems with the value range and details.
    Learn. More.

Poopy brush stroke quality and edge control - another aspect I have to tackle.

Icecold, you're right. I'll keep an eye on that during the painting so that I won't have to correct it afterwards.

    Some studies.

WOW, What a wonderful stage of progression in your work. Loved all the studies from beginning to end. I am epically fond of the crystals and the recent knight. The color in the night just screams that it will be coming out good.

Pete Hidalgo, thanks! I appreciate that.

Unfortunately I've been quite lazy since I know I'm going to study Game Design...that sucks.

    Still life and imagination poo-poo.

LastGen, you can be lazy when uni begins... just kidding, hehe

And congrats to your successful application!

I think you already know what to work on next, everything has been mentioned by fellow posters. You had amazing output recently, so set some goals again! Participate in the CA weeklies or something. Get productive. Good luck. GG

Nice renderings, but i must say that some forms are still off. It's better to get the forms/shapes and proportions right before you render away. Just my two cent
Good updates, though. Keep 'em coming!

Even though you are studying Game Design, that is no reason to be lazy. Artist are very important in the GD field. Especially with graphics nowadays. Believe me I studied it and realized I wanted to do concept art for it. Then realized I slacked on my art to focus on the technical and program skillz.

KiBa, thanks! I hope to see you there.

witcrack, right, I have issues getting the construction right when working from life. Gotta practice that.

Pete Hidalgo, good point! Though, I still want to be a concept artist/illustrator in first place - whatever happens, no change intended here.

    kevin_, thank you!

So, slowly coming back. God, I've been really lazy and foolish.

    Kvenh, thanks man!

Alright, let's make it happen. Sorry for the poor quality, both - the content, and the pictures.

    Argh, 20 attachments per posting.

STAHP, take some time to rest O_O too much studies in here. You do great, so keep up the pace, haha. Dont forget to apply your studies by drawing from imagination. It will greatly help you not to forget about what you learned(I always forget so I know, lol).

Hammering it dude! just keep going, and like the guy said above me, remember to apply your newfound knowledge from studies by doing some imaginative work too. Its very easy to get caught up in hardcore studying. But yes, nice progress
