Preliminary work for a children's book illustration. Its amazing how much a piece will change when you use photoshop to paint it out versus painting in Gouache.
enjoyed your human figures, and bone studies a lot :>
Thanks Freeminds,
Heres a sketch of my old character design prof.

Really enjoying the atmospheric quality of your work.![]()
My Sketchbook, so much to learn!
Man, You are doing it right - absolutely topnotch drawings and illustrations.Rating it with less than a five, is criminal.
pwn: Thanks!
Obier: Aww shucks man, thats a huge compliment. Thanks a lot! I checked your blog out man, looks good. Post some more location work!
Here are some second quarter life drawings from my 5th semester at Sheridan. Look at page one, then look here. Sheridan College has the BEST life drawing program in North America.

I really like your style and nice life drawings too.
I like your figures, they have a great sense of movement. The form is a bit flat and I guess distorted in a few of them. I think you have a few foreshortening issues but you'll get better at that. What do they teach you guy's up there at Sheridan, I'm looking into the school even though it might be expensive for a U.S. student.
Nice studies as always great dedication.
I love the #219 concept, it really has an atmosphaire and a great style.
Keep up those life drawings.
Keep up

Sean: Thanks man, much appreciated
KT: Ah life drawings is probably the hardest thing to do in art, but I agree my structure and proportion need work, but that will come with time and practice. Thanks for stopping by!
Sheridan is awesome, go for the animation program and not illustration, you get more healthy competition and better instructors, the connections you make here can last a lifetime. They teach everything that has to do with animation man, life drawing, storyboarding, character design, background painting, 3d, flash toonboom, stop motion, the works. I recommend it.
Knut: My long time reader, once again thanks for dropping by and the kind words! Dont worry I wont ever stop!

That last one has a nice style. I didn't find the ghost :p and thats also my only crit: wouldn't it be better to add a clearer focus point?
I also really like the expressions you draw in your figure drawings / portraits. I would love to see a series of 1 person acting out different expressions.
Another cafe sketch, then turned into an animal....what a great character design exercise....I definitely recommend it!
Kapri:
lol there is no ghost, at least not in the drawing. That building is said to be haunted. It was for a client the focal point is the front gate where the pool of light is, I guess I could have made the focal point clearer but it was an experimental piece so it is what it is. Thanks for the comment!
