The Life Giver

When someone dies, the early people leave the dead on top of the mountains for the life giver's judgment. The life giver offers dead people a chance to live and be with their family again, that's if they've been a good citizen during their past life. But if they're not, The body and soul of the dead will be offered to the beasts.

Too similar in value all over the image. Anything with light eminating from it is brighter than something with ambient light on it. Good idea though.

interesting work! the red fabric kind of reminds me of how they used to treat spawn's cape. I think it gives it a little bit of a comic-book pin-up feel because of that connection in my mind.

i would have to agree with the point being made about the lighting. there is lava and burning hot firelight below and a very diffuse white light emanating from the top background. Somehow there seems to be another front light illuminating the figure but not interacting with any of the other surfaces. I think it would make a stronger impact in the piece if she were lit with the hot lava light from below and her top contour would be defined by the diffuse white light from behind.

Thanks for the critic. i didn't lit her with the hot lava because the fire can't be seen in her foreground. it is inside the stairs, that's why i just added some glows from the edges of the stair holes. But yeah i think it would be more powerful if she were lit by the lava. But i want to stick with my concept and this application can make her look like a villain, and i don't like that. so instead of having a biased reaction regarding her personality, i added a light at the top front having only her as the main focus (since i want to maintain the evilness of the hounds) to make her skin glow eventhough she was against the light (the ambient light at the back). Regarding your suggestion, i believe that type of lighting could really make her look powerful too, but could be a bit misleading But i'll keep that in mind. thanks! I'll try to apply that suggestion but just minimal for this one and i think i'll just apply some light to her from the hounds instead. just a little hint of it
