Hello there,
What a start to a sketchbook - a very nicely done risque drawing and a pseudo-philosophical accompaniment. I say - keep up the drawings. Beautifully done shape and a great finish to the hair.
Would be nice to see more, although not necessarily any more of her :-)
Jansi - Thank you for the kind response.

LtPlissken - Thanks for the link!

This is my first two attempts of painting. The task was creating an underlying picture by blocking in large areas and then analysing lights/shadows and trying to represent the actual image.
I would love to improve. Any suggestions?

Second two paintings of a different object. Fletcher: Colour Control and the color system it introduces was much help in organizing my pallette.

hey Frinthy,
good start to a sketchbook! really nice sketches, good shaping and shading. I like the straight and soft strokes in the first four posts.
the six life drawings seem to be fast ones but very well defined. you should practice more faces.
keep going on, looking forward to more studies.
cheers,
Rebecca

Hi Frinthy
I like the way you shadepost 4 is actually my favorite .
keep on drawing and post more.
Keep on drawing, you have some cool stuff, there is certainly individuality in your drawings. Your paintings reminded me almost of Chaim Soutine
§Hy9oD, EllionV Thank you so much for the motivating comments. It helps a lot. I made a note in my notebook on Chaim Soutine, I haven't seen his work before. I try working on drawing the eyes at the moment. These first few tries except the last one made me so upset during drawing... Then I realised I can just get a new sheet of paper and start again. Fortunately I got fed up with using an eraser so it is in the bin now. Also, experimenting with posemaniacs was fun so far, I'll post outcomes of those gestures later.
