    Sketchbook

I've been lurking the forums for a while so I finally decided to start a sketchbook today. I haven't really been serious about drawing, so I'm posting a sketchbook to change that and get myself motivated.

way to get serious and start a sketchbook!, i recently did the same.

nice job on those studies, they will be so helpful if you keep them up. I've been drawing for years now but never worked on figure studies and my lack of ability to draw the human figure from memory shows my lack of focus in that area. So keep up those studies and a focus or goal to your practice.

it looks like you're off to a good start with ur SB
check mine out if u want, i gotta post the link to my profile

Looks like you've got a good start, just keep up the studies and everything else will work out! I just started my sketchbook today and I think this is a good way to grow as an artist. To be able to get feedback and share tips and tricks, it's just awesome. Anyhow, keep up the good job and check out my sketchbook if you want.

Keep it up. You will progress rapidly if you continue to do so, and from the looks of it, you're already great at drawing simple shapes. Moar studies!

Keep up the studies. I always suggest checking out your local interwebs for some Bridgman and Loomis studies/books on anatomy if you want to go for the human form.

Also, there's tons of books on perspective. Your boxes are kinda lopsided in spots. Keep working on it

You'll get there, with hard work

    Cool beans leo,

I'm just gonna echo everyone else - more studies! You're doing great so far, stick with bridgman, loomis and life and you'll be awesome. Just keep drawing, explore everything and think about what you're doing. Maybe try some self portraits, draw some pets, make a comic - just draw!

    Good luck, keep it up.

Thanks for the visit. Good studies, keep it up. Just one thing, when you found the shape you were searching for (with light searching lines) then go over it with bolder, heavier, confident lines and reinforce the good lines that you have found.

Yes the searching line is that missing you and your shapes are far from perfect. Your hand is still unsure - try to draw for yourself simple shapes but fast don't take much time just to get the shape with many lines not just one.
And keep practise the anatomy - not only from books but from real models - quick sketches and atc...

pixel cheetah - Thanks, I'll make sure to do that next time.

kitana_mk - Thanks, I think I did take a lot longer on those shapes than I should have.

Some pages I did yesterday. I tried to draw gestures of everybody in my house and it was a lot more fun than drawing regular objects. Most of the life drawings are 30 seconds or less.

Thx for the visit Shapes looking good but some of them are very hard to see. Either adjust your scanner or be more bold with your lines when you think you have found the good shape

hey thanks for replying pixel cheetah, I thought it would be easier to just take pictures with a camera, but the pages would just come out blurry, so next time I would have to switch back to scanning the pages then.

    hey there leo
good work with your studies so far
i think it would be really helpful to just practice your lines
    like just the lines themselves
practice drawing straight lines.. bold striaght quick lines from the elbow
also practice drawing bendy doodle lines, making interesting shapes (even if abstract) but keeping the line smooth and non-jiggly. i think this will help a lot because the main weakness i see right now is your lines are trembly and look weak
    hope this helps
