    More updates please.

I think your last update is solid. Keep it up. And keep in mind to push the values so that sketches will look more 3-dimensional. With pencil work, you can push darker values by using softer lead pencils. And here's a scale to help you: http://pastelpointersblog.artistsnet...alue-scale.jpg

If your values are close to middle gray (box 5), then you should use more values away from middle gray.

hey m8! long time no see bro. See you are working hard. alot of real life stuf which is great and freaking hard. The only crit I got for you know is for you to practice on the quality of your lines, they are often abit blurry and sometimes messy. Practice on making straight lines without a ruler. You are doing great. How are you otherwise m8?

Thanks for commenting on my sketchbook. A couple of small critiques, in this post http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...&postcount=251, the last image the chair with the jacket on it, there should be jacket between the chairs structure, right now it's white and stands out so much. Also something that i think could benefit your work, try using the side of the pencil or maybe even some charcoal and concentrate on the tones not the lines. Keep it up.

hey friend! great update! Will make some constructive critique on the last character design okey? Im glad u experiment with ur imagination, I suck at that so toast to u! I however see one problem here, the head shape. In ur sketch the head looks great, when u first put on the hair u still see the head shape look good but in the finished version u have erased alot of his head. The top of his head is now way to small if we compare to the rest of the head. Well this is only if u want him to look somehow real, this way he look more comic, depends on what ur after but just wanted to let u know.

I would say lay some more hair on top And u really gotta descide where the light source is and go alot more with shadows and highlights.

I hope u dont take it the wrong way, it look great and im glad ur making tremendous progress! Just want to help out.

take care friend! ooh long post haha.

nice to see you are doing more traditionals recently. One crit from me, which I'm sure you have got from a lot of people recently, is to try and vary your line weight and width a little more.

Apart from that, just stay motivated and I'll be back to check out the progress!

    Hey dude! Consider yourself added!

No worries about the pig/rat/thing. And as for time? I basically come home, sit on my ass and try to draw as much as I can bring myself to between then and when I go to sleep. There's a fair amount of post-work fatigue and headache negotiation, and I usually end up wrestling with google reader for control of my brain.

I will tell you this - it gets easier to draw more often the more you do it. I dunno about you, but I used to get really frustrated with the way stuff WASN'T turning out and there was alot of struggle to get working because "I just can't deal with the failure right now." With practice, that feeling went away and I'm currently chewing through my sketchbooks at a rate I've never chewed before. It's AWESOME.

Very nice mate, its nice that u play with a lot of things. I like the way that u apply the basic colors, but after that step u have to improve the rendering. No worries, just keep up building the fundamentals. Keep up anatomy and keep up understanding the values.U could use more shadows to describe the form. Now it looks a little flat because of the strong outlines and the absence of shadows.
keep up the good hard work!!!

teapo yes this is that drawing i was talking about online , i must try to focus and draw what i see better , the quality of lines are not what i expected and i think its because most of the times i dont know how to start and continue life drawings , they are different in anyways , yet trying find the solution and focus more .

Jaunay good point , you have found an exact bug in that piece , about charcoal i must say i will do that but at this point i am working on other tasks but i think in my life drawings i could use that and try what you said .

PaintMyBrain first off , those thing around his head are not hair they are his hat furs and you thought its hair because i have eared back of the hat by mistake . yes you are right it looks comic , i didn't want to make it look this way .

ThomasM the quality of the lines are so important and it seems i need to draw with my entire arm witch is a little hard for me .

oma i try to keep them flowing as much as possible , you know I cannot always control what goes on outside. But I can always control what goes on inside.

krysjez i will try my best .

    Diarum Okay .

karmiclychee i agree with you about chewing through sketchbooks , i really try to do my best as i think everybody already know whats my slogan " i will try my best " but as i mentioned earlier to oma I cannot always control what goes on outside. But I can always control what goes on inside .

kingkostas after applying the basic colors improve rendering and adding values , i got it , about being flat you are correct it seems strong outlines and absence of shadows and light are responsible .

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pose practice , they are almost from my mind so they have some errors .

Good to see the still lives. Keep working on them and try to consider their form first before the outlines; it'll help with the rest of your art.

Some of the proportions seems right on but at the same time stretched out. Almost spaghetti like. When doing gestures from the mind, don't just think of just the motion but also the underling structure and bone placement.

Great work so far! Like Pigeonkill said, you've got the gist of the human figure, but the limbs and torso are especially elongated. The feet and hands could also be a bit larger. Don't be afraid to use a reference.

    Keep it up!

Black Spot i must work on them more and more .

Pigeonkill i know some of them are even more than 9 head , i wasn't worried about the height at that point .

tempest-haze i also use reference in drawings , i know its good to draw from mind but drawing from reference also help brain to memorize stuff much better .

julianR i will try my best .

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
i am not sure about this but i think its something you could name it jackal study . i found out most of the dogs and cats bone structure are almost the same in the basic . in the painting level i draw hairs but they dont look correct and also the painting is a bit off .
