Hey man, nice work in here. Your rendering is coming along nicely! Love the creativity as well.

Make sure you're slamming the anatomy and life drawing harrrrrdd! Make sure to always be analyzing what you're learning, it'll really pay off vs. simply copying.

Anyhoo, just a few thoughts. Keep going and you'll definitely succeed man.

Eekolite- Thanks man, lifedrawing started today and I just watched an anatomy class thingy how to blend figures and anatomy so theres more studies coming this way cheers!

Fetsch- Hey thanks for stopping by fetsch, dont worry lots of value screen caps will be done!

Teapo- tar for the crit mate, deffo need more work on my faces so they dont look like they've just been pummeled

Vatsel- Thanks Vastel! will try my best with the features

Think my uni work is safe now so here some studies.

Things i've taken into account, FACES its apparent that i suck at them so gonna spend so much time on Loomis and Hogarth's head studies and apply them to the Screen Cap Book.

    Lifedrawing started again today too.

Hey fudgeloaf! You reminded me I haven't checked here in a while.

And wwooowww you've improved so much I think the movie stills and the horsemen really show that.

It just proves how handy those studies are, so keep them up and keep having fun with it

I think your structure is getting better by looking at those figuredrawings.
You seem to hurry the skulls though. Do you use reference for them? They looks like they are done completely from your mind. That's an issue because you're kinda doing studies from your mind or something, that's bad because you can't learn from imagination since your imagination is built on things you know about the real world. So when you do these skull studies, have a few images of skulls open while you do them.

I think people confuse others when they tell new artists "do the studies and then do a bunch from your head". That's a bit misleading.. Do the studies, and then check yourself by doing some from your head. Just to see how much you know and don't know so you know what to tackle next time.

In the beginning it's very important to have reference by your side while your working because you don't have that library of things in your head. After studying a insane load of skulls and after drawing them a whole bunch of times, you won't need reference too much, but in the beginning you do need them.

Personally, I like to check back into my anatomy books at times while I do my own work and (especially) client work. I don't think it's a bad thing to use reference, it's not cheating.. I don't really get it when people say it is. That is to me like.. Driving really fast around a race track and it might cause you to crash and really hurt yourself, while you could just drive slower and make it safely and slowly starting to drive faster cause you get better at driving the car.

I ramble a lot I'm sorry. I'm sure you get my point.

    .....
Just focus really hard on the structure part and don't go "ah that's good enough.. it'll do." Do your very best and really try to nail the study subject because there's no point in rushing it through and not learn correctly.

Sulphur- Heey, Thanks Sulphur glad your back around

Teapo- Cheers Teapo! And dont worry im sticking with these heads for quite a while

Wicked-eye- Thanks man, drawing from life is a huge help but so are studies! atleast then you can apply them to life.. cant really do the other way round haha

    Alexson- Haha i'm humbled sir!

Snatti- Thanks snatti, im back now! no more deadlines for a while so lots of screenies to do

Loathsome- Hey man thanks for the awesome advice, definitely took what you suggested, lots more reffed studies and only 1/5 from imagination just to see what to work on, takes a while longer but helps me with my "it will do" thoughts. cheers!

Cheers for the comments and advice everyone

So Dissertation deadline tomorrow and i finished early so continued with the heads, and a quick 1 hour SP and todays screen cap, New brushes seems to inspire me more, but don't necessarily make me better.

Good studies and workethic man. When drawing heads I suggest you spend bit more time building the construction and checking proportions. That will pay off in the end.

Just keep hammering down these fundamentals. I know I should too, haha.

Today progress with the superhero guy.
    Name: superhero5web.jpg

Bio- So the guy used to be a hotshot in the industry a typical good looking selfish rich man that cared about his looks more than other people, he then gets cursed after not helping out an old lady and dies.. kinda, instead he just decays and he has until the time he's mush to make the world a better place. the whole hand on the wire thing is him stitching himself back together whenever bits of him fall off (through fights etc), he uses piano wire so that it doubles as a weapon and doesnt really feel pain because of the whole dying thing.

Sorry to bore you with a bio for him but, thoughts on the guy would help me get my concept straightened out me thinks, i've also done some more ideas and thumbs but they look like ass so just this today.

I really like the shapes in the one of her stood from behind with her legs crossed. It's really good! Also your alien guy is awesome I like his leg armour but his chest one looks like it's working against his body. Maybe something that follows the shapes of his torso more?

Mincx- Thankya yeah i found out pretty poo at coming up with logical armour at the minute gotta stuudy!

AkerOner-Hey welcome to CA and thanks! I feel honoured to take your post virginity hehe

HackTardist- Cheers! i did use some of that weird disease as inspiration for my last uni thing (which is where the creepy thing is from) as well as tumours and all sorts of nasty stuff! Glad to see it shows hehe

Teapo-Thanks teapo just trying to keep up with you

Sorry if the images stretch everything on the page my internet is so dippy at the minute im not risking having to upload 21 pages more than once!

Todays Lifedrawing and tried to do some traditional stuff from my head, its all one character just armour ideas and variations, it would help me quite abit to hear your thoughts on them so far as they are all just thumbs and ideas for a final guy next week.

The character has to have some way of venting or spraying out icy air in order to freeze his surroundings hence all the holes and vents everywhere, he's also unable to survive in places that arent cold so theres gonna be plenty of gas masks and breathing apparatus around him.
